So because I had no trips in the works and seeing all of these great photos of The World depressed me, I took a bit of a hiatus from the Photography Board. Well, I'm back. I've been lurking for a few weeks now and after an ever-so-timely PM from another Photography Board member who spotted me posting on another forum (blasphemous, I know!) I figured it was time to make my return.

What have I missed?

In the world of Ann, nothing is new, except that we're headed to the Happiest Place on Earth for 8 days in February. Woohoooo!

Wow...you missed a lot here. Biggest story you missed: everyone on the photography forum has sold their cameras, and we all now use camera phones to take photos.

Also, we all had a special, free, all-expenses-paid week long trip in Disney - paid for by Disney...anyone who was on the photo forums got the free trip. I guess you missed it.

Now, sell your camera gear and get caught up.

LOL the camera phones. You should see the 300mm lens you can attach to an iphone. Ya gotta use duct tape and bungie cords but the pictures are FABULOUS!

I was going to tease you and tell you that Mark Barbieri came out of retirement and started posting again but we all know that would never happen so I didn't go there.

ChiSoxKeith is running the photo contests now but he decided to desert us and run off to Aulani. If he comes back maybe he'll get his old (new) gig back.

So how is your equipment acquisition syndrome coming along? Have you sold/acquired anything new or exciting? I'm working on converting a Quaker Oats box into an infrared camera but it's not going so well. The square digital camera back I'm using is not lining up well with the circular opening of the Oats box and I'm out of duct tape (see above).

Ugh, we can all dream can't we? A free Disney trip would be awesome though! If I win the lottery, a DIS photo board trip is on me.

Thanks Karyl! I've unfortunately got nothing to post! I've been doing more "work" photography wise than I have been shooting for fun, which usually involves taking pictures of other people's kids/events, which means pics I can't post. But I've been looking at yours on FB (especially the ones with the new 70-200 ) and they're awesome.

How true. I have been hanging out on Nikon Cafe more just because like I said, looking at Disney photos depress me! But honestly, it helps feel like you fit-in when you have something more than photography in common, so I much prefer the DIS!

I saw Mark made his triumphant return! Honestly, that's one of the main things that drew me back. I'm a big Mark fan, even if he is a Canon user. Now if only I could find some recent CramBerries posts...

Gotta love new gear! I would love to go on a DCL cruise and I didn't know they left out of NY, thought they just departed from Florida. Can't wait to hear how it is, even if it's a year away.
