I'm at Poly now!!!!

We love, love, love the Poly and can't wait to check-in 2 months from TODAY!
Do me a favor and go take a big whiff of the GCH for me. Ahhhhhhh! :cloud9:

Oooooo....EPCOT! Next to the Poly my favorite place to be in WDW.

Have a fun trip and thanks for posting your updates!!

Hi all! It's beautiful (but hot) here at the world! We are at epcot. I am waiting for dh and dd to do mission space (not for me), and then we will do test track. Lines are very long, soarin was 55 min at 11:30, and test track is now 55 min. We need to be out of here by 3:00 to go to DTD. We want to do some tshirts and retail therapy, and we have an ADR at Rainforest Cafe at 5pm. After that we will return to Epcot for illuminations.

So glad Irene did not effect us! Praying for those along the coast!

Oh! We ate at 1900 park faire last night, and imo, the food has improved. Better choices and more delicious. We eat there because dd likes the stepsisters, but I've always thought the food was kind of eh... Better this year IMO.

I am enjoying your updates. Glad to hear 1900 Park Faire has improved, we might try it again this trip. Speaking of retail therapy, does Boutikki have a good selection of Poly specific merchandise? Hoping for a new sweatshirt this year. (and the D&B 40th anniv. bag) :rolleyes1 - Enjoy the rest of your day

Why do you think its so crowded? Figured most families would be home now for kids school?
I am assuming because of free dining? I dont really know. When I first made my adrs in feb, the crowd levels were 2's and 3's, by the time we left they were 5's and 7's.

Btw, we asked what the scent was in poly and they said it was the foliage. Yeah, right! They either didn't know or they are closely guarding the info...

Trip update! Yesterday we did Epcot. It was pretty crowded and very, very hot! We got to ride Soarin twice, test track, mission space, spaceship earth, and it took hours.....we left to go to DTD, had dinner at rainforest cafe (fabulous food!) and boy do I have a story to tell about DTD that you won't believe! We are being seated right now at chef mickeys, so I will be back shortly!

OMG! Can't wait to hear what happened! :yay::yay:
I guess I"ll just have to wait while you enjoy yummy food with Mickey!
Sorry for the "so so" room you got. Did you happen to say anything to CM when they gave you that specific room?
Have Fun!

Ok, done at chef mickeys. The plan was to come back to Poly and swim, however there is currently a torrential downpour! :headache:

So! Here is my amazing story about DTD! We were leaving, and dh went to pick up dd's tshirt while myself and dd went to the restroom. So we noticed that the ladies room wad crowded and the stalls were small. Call me crazy, but dd likes me to come into the stall (and so do I) to make sure it's clean and to put down a toilet seat cover. Public bathrooms can be vulgar. Anyway, since it was open, we decided to use the companion bathroom. I set my wristlet (with my iPhone, credit cards, cash, room keys (with charging privileges), and my Fugi camera on top of the diaper changing station while we both used the restroom. Are you guessing what happened next? Yup! You guessed it! Walked out of the restroom without them. We waited like 15 min for a bus to take us to YC, to transfer busses to get to DTD. We finally get the bus, it's packed, so we are standing, and the moment of panic strikes. Omg, where is my wristlet. I tell dh I left it in the bathroom, and he asks the bus driver to let us off the bus which had made it to the stop sign before exiting the marketplace area. She said she couldn't, and we had to ride to pleasure island. We got off, and dh (who is a runner), ran all the way from pleasure island to the front of the marketplace. I had dd with me, so we walked as fast as we could to find him. The whole way, dd was panicking, and I was using my power of positive thinking, repeating over and over again, it has to still be there, and praying no one took my things. The whole way, dd kept asking what we were going to do if our stuff was gone. I finally get close to the Christmas store, and I see him. I'm trying to read his body language and his face to gauge whether or not he found it, and as I get closer, I see he has something black in his hand. At this point, I almost didn't care about the camera, I cared more about my whole financial life in my wristlet. Amazingly, both were still there, my phone, all my money, cards, everything was still there along with my camera. I wanted to cry from happiness and relief! Is that a story or what?????

From there, we went to Epcot, watched illuminations, got back to the room, and crashed. A note about illuminations: the sheer number of people in the park makes exiting not so much fun.

So we go to CR this am for bk at CM. We waited over half an hour to be seated.:headache: Anyway, we were talking to one of the cm's who gave us some interesting facts:

This morning for breakfast alone, 1400 people!! Just for breakfast!! He works at all different places. He said yesterday at Crystal Palace there were 4000 people for all three meals combined!! That's amazing to me!!

So here we sit in our room waiting for the rain to stop. We were trying to swim before SOA, but it looks like it will have to wait until after the show. I'll let you guys know how we enjoyed it.

What a relief it must have been to find your belongings right where you left them:woohoo: Enjoy the rest of your day.

Glad to hear that you got your stuff back. I would highly recommend disinfecting everything that was on the changing table. Sometimes I'd rather change my son on the street as they are generally cleaned more often than one of those changing tables.

I can't believe that your wallet was still there! I think it was your power of positive thinking that did it! ;) Hope it didn't take off to many years of your life, oh the stress!:sad2:
Thanks again for your updates!
Rain, rain go away...

There has been much discussion on this topic. Normally if we want to watch wishes, my personal preference is to go to MK and watch. For me, seeing the castle close up is a big part of watching wishes. We are watching wishes right now from the beach at Poly. This is really a new experience for us. With the music piped in, it's pretty nice.

And very crowded.....:sad2: less crowded than main st of course, and I don't have to fight the crowds to get on the monorail or the boat to get out of MK. At first I was going to vent about the hundreds of people here, but thinking of how many fewer people there are here, I guess there's really nothing to vent about. :goodvibes

Cuz it was people soup, and there were definitely non Poly people swimming. How do I know? Dd struck up a conversation with another little girl while waiting for the slide. Dd told the little girl she should try the slide at night, that it was lit up at night and it wasn't scary. The little girl said, "oh, we dont stay here". :confused3

Wow ,you were so lucky girlfriend. I'm glad it worked out well for you and your family.Enjoy the rest of your vacation!:cutie:

Ugh! I hate that!

Sunday must be a non-checking day at the Volcano Pool...

I realize this may or may not make guests at the Poly happy, but if the little girl at the pool were a dvc member staying on points, she was at the pool legally. (Please don't shoot the messenger...just sharing a possible explanation for why she was there.) I will admit...if I were paying what it costs to stay at the Poly, I wouldn't want to share my pool with anybody!!!:sad2:

We were there at the same time you were! We only swam one day, I think it was Tuesday, the day it ended up pouring rain and storming. I know they did not check that day, and it was kind of crowded, at least until the storm started.
