I'm a wander-er!

Does it make me sound really boring if I say staying in my warm house and watching TV? I volunteered in my son's Kindergarten class today and I am beat:upsidedow
Oh and doing homework. I have a 10 page research paper that's rough draft was due today:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Did you read my post :lmao:, how much more boring can a person be than doing their kid's laundry and listening to high school football on radio? :rotfl2: I must admit, I don't envy you the 10 page paper! BTDT and don't want to go back. My time has been served. . .but  to you and hope you get it done before midnight!

10 P.M. in Jersey....do you know where your children are? I grew up with that from Fox5 TV station.
I'm the Dis-nut in the my family...DH has endured many trips and adventures to DW, sailed with me on DCL to fulfill my fantasy of sailing the high seas as a sea siren :rotfl: and bought into DVC to feed my need for Disney. Our two adult daughters just shake their heads and say....Disney again??? Yep! And I have my dear (deceased) grandmother to thank for introducing me to the wonderful world of Disney way back in 1972....gosh am I really that old?? :lmao: Sleep tight and don't let the......vampires bite!

What is everyone doing this evening? I'm doing our son's laundry--yeah he's home from college--and listening to the local high school football game. District Championship game tonight and hoping we move on to regionals. :thumbsup2

You are a good mama!!

We have not done a thing tonight. Lauren, my 17 year old is spending the night away and I am about to go pick Lindsey, my 12 year old, up from a birthday party. My son and I sat around watching Disney videos on youtube for a little while.:rotfl2: That was the highlight of my night. :lmao:

It's COLD here tonight!! Going down to 30 tonight. :scared1: We have gone from summer to winter. :sad1::laughing:

Thanks:upsidedow I really am not enjoying this class. And of course I'm on the DIS instead of doing my homework:laughing:

Once again wresting the thread killing baton from natenapril!

I went to the hs football game tonight and froze my behind off to see my DD in the marching band and then between halftime and the end of the game ran to Wallyworld to pick up some much needed items. You can only squeeze so much toothpaste out of the tube before you have to give up.

Since I got home I have eaten and rejected a McRib sandwich and posted on that thread-- killing it completely. And been enjoying reading the the facebook pages for, and following the saga of, the Cooking magazine that has been stealing content from all over the internet and is now going up in a virtual internet flame. Started a thread on that earlier which is in a slow lingering death and I am talking to myself. If you start a thread, and you continue to post on it over and over, are you thread killing?

I probably should get to bed soon.

That's funny! You are right, I couldn't make it there at all. I am cold if it goes below 70, if you can believe that. :lmao:

Well, my night got interesting a little while ago. I went to pick up DD (12) from the birthday party. There was two girls who had it together and they had a band and a bonfire, and the kids had a good time.

The problem came up after the party. A group of her friends, all cheerleaders with her, wanted to go rolling yards. She got soooo mad at me for not letting her go.:duck: She had on her brand new Uggs! I was not about to let her mess them up. Anyway, she is not speaking to me now. She deleted me from her facebook too. What was really funny is that my son was taking up for her, trying to change my mind, then she yelled at him.:rolleyes1 So I turned her cell phone off!

Girls at this age are so hard to live with. They do grow out of it, but it takes a while.:snail::crazy2:

Edited to add: Would you believe that she just came in here and asked me to take her shopping tomorrow?:sad2: :rotfl:

Hi everybody! I hope everybody is having a good night or had depending on when you read this. Just got back from seeing the musical West Side Story in San Francisco and wanted to check in to see that the thread didn't die.

A little bit about me, I'm 25 and live at home with my parents and sister. I quit my job a couple of months ago because I was really unhappy there and felt that my happiness was more important than working there.

I have loved disney ever since I was little. My family would visit DL every summer until I was about 10 and then the trips became more infrequent. I had an AP one year while I went to school in L.A.

We are driving down to DL on Wednesday and spending 3 days in the park. Really excited!

Oh, 12 year old girls. . .boy do I remember. They are angry, screaming harpies one minute and a few hours later they are lovable little kittens crawling in your lap. The pre-teen turmoil in our home was minimal thank goodness, but we did have our moments. Kids gotta' love 'em because you can't return them.

Speaking of kids, we are off later this a.m. to watch our cutie patootie dance at the halftime show at her college. Better dig out those warm woolies. . .

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Morning.:headache: Yeah it is 2:30 here but I got up after 12 so it is still morning to me and not a good one. I was having trouble sleeping anyway and then my cats decided that they wanted to be played with at 2:30 and 7:30 AM! When I declined their offer they decided to meow, yowl, cry, jump on top of me and nudge me to try to get me up. Then they were playing chase me catch me across the top of my bed and me. I finally took something to help me sleep around 7:45am, after I booted the cats from my bedroom and shut the door.

So it is a very lazy day here. I have used my cranky mood to get my kids to do some chores, DH is out doing yard work and DD14 has a band competition tonight that thankfully I don't have to go to. It is going to be COLD!

Just put some Pumpkin Spice Muffins/cakes in the oven so looking forward to a nice fall treat in about 30 mins. And more coffee!

. A group of her friends, all cheerleaders with her, wanted to go rolling yards.

Because I have a 14 year old and probably should know, what is rolling yards????

Wow! That sounds so exciting! Where do your writings end up? Magazines, newspapers, books, internet??? I would love to see some of it.

It sounds like you really overcame a hard spot in your life and made some great lemonaid.:goodvibes

I have told DH that I would love to get an RV when we retire and just go all over the country and see it all. He isn't an RV guy and said that he would rather have a nice car and spend the money on hotels.

Thanks! I kind of stumbled into this life by accident, but I wouldn't trade it for the world :thumbsup2 You can read some of my stuff at About.com and Tots and Travel. I freelance, though, so I tend to follow the money:rotfl:. I've got some print magazine experience, podcast tours...all sorts of things.

As for the RV, have you tried dragging DH to an RV show? Some of the Class A's put even the most deluxe hotel suites to shame. We're in a travel trailer because the floor plans are the most flexible--a must since we need two bedrooms plus an office, but I've drooled over some Class A's.

Sounds Yummy! I was just noting yesterday how my Pumpkin Spice Latte consumption is way down this year since I don't go to Starbucks that much now.

LOL, we are holding 2 conversations about travel on two different threads. I have years for DH and I to make our retirement travel plans so we will see what I can convince him of. Of course money will be the main influence!

My guess would be toilet papering someone's home. :confused3

That was my thought but I wasn't sure and want to be sure that I know of everything that my teen could be involved in!

:rotfl2: I am so craving a Peppermint Mocha right now. I have the creamer but it isn't the same as getting one from Starbucks.

The muffins are so good and SO EASY to make! One box of spice cake mix and one 15 oz can of pumpkin. Bake at 350 for 20-25 mins. You can actually use any flavor of cake mix for these. Chocolate is also delicious!

It is when they toilet paper trees in yards. My yard was just rolled last week by some of these girls, but they didn't do a very good job. They got scared and ran off. Personally, I hate it! I know what it's like to have this done to you and it can be a mess.

The girls are already texting again tonight wanting someones mother to take them. I'm not taking them & I'm not letting DD go either. She can just stay mad. ;) My kids said that I am not cool.:lmao:

I think I am going to try a peppermint mocha at DL to go along with my gingerbread man cookie I plan on enjoying while watching the fireworks.

That does sound easy especially for somebody like me who doesn't bake unless it comes from a box! :rotfl:

Even the worst cooks can make something out of a box or a can. This recipe is great because it is 1 box and 1 can-- anyone can do it!

wdwmomof3, we just call that TPing as far as I know. And no way in heck my child would be allowed to be involved. That is trespassing and vandalism as far as I am concerned. I have heard ( I think here on the DIS!) that there are communities where it is acceptable, but that is because the kids go back the next day and clean up all of the mess they made.

I have a 13 year old DD and sometimes I consider getting 2 jobs to send her to an all girls school in Switzerland. TPing someones house would be great to her:sick:

Why would anyone ask their parents to take them TPing? Growing up, that was something you did on the very very sly! How else are you going to avoid getting trouble?

Is this thread still active? Maybe I'll just kill it now.

Yum, Starbucks. I love to treat myself to a chai latte once in a great while. It's about time for one. :)
