I'm a sad future New Yorker

Well DH got a job in NY and we are all very happy about that we didn't find out till last week and he has to start immediately. So as soon as we found out officially (wednesday) we put our house on the market ( for sale by owner) and went and found a house in NY. Well on the first day we got 3 offers we were so happy. We drew up a contract and did all the required stuff then yesterday the guy bails out. (legally we already checked with our lawyer) so last night I called all the other folks who made offers but it was too late. They both were already in other contracts.So, now we are right back at square one I'm totally stressed and the house we bought in Clifton park was contingent (sp.)upon us selling our home by 8/12. My DH says I shouldn't worry the affordable housing market is so tight around here that we should have no problem selling. but I am still kind of freaking out. thanks for listening

Trish we live in the new northend in Burlington. Three more couples came to see the house today.... make that four. I had to stop typing mid-post because someone was at the door, Now hopefully someone makes an offer tonight so I can get some sleep and stop biting DH's head off!

Welcome to NY! I live in Galway, on the other side of Saratoga County--y'all come visit when you get homesick for Vermont! We're much more rural (for better or worse) over this way.

I'm sure things will work out for you. I won't go into all the gritty details, but we had many ups and downs with buying and selling our house--we wound up in a home we can grow old in, we absolutely love it. Try to keep positive thoughts--this will work out!
