I'm a croc virgin! Need help w/styles

Okay I have to admit that I am leery b/c I think they are absolutely ugly. However, last year I got some major blisters and my feet sweat buckets. I am looking for a shoe that works. Can someone let me know what styles they like best? Cayman? Beach? etc. I am so confused as to what the differences are. Thanks!

I bought a pair of Caymans last year (they are a little narrower than the Beach style). I think they're ugly too but I was pregnant and needed the relief, and boy did I feel great when I wore them. This year I bought a pair of Mary Janes and wear them pretty much every day. I have narrow feet and these fit perfectly. Not as ugly as the Caymans or Beach. I rarely wear the Caymans, I just don't like the wideness of them.

Does the cros sizing differ from Standard shoe sizing as well?

That was my impression, but I'm having trouble figuring out how they would 'convert' in size to standard sizes.

I'm with the OP...I think they look clumsy and ugly, but if they really are that comfortable.....

I wear the Beach. Actually, I bought them just for Disney ('cause of the massive blisters I always get there from tennis shoes). But I have been wearing them everywhere for the last month. I like them the best 'cause they are so room. They are not supposed to touch your feet on any sides. I normally wear a women's 8 1/2 or 9, but I had to get the large size 10-11 because my toe touched the end in mediums. These fit me perfectly.

Ok, so this morning I went to a sporting goods store and tried on different styles. I still couldn't bring myself to buy the beach style. I felt like they were really really wide and well really really ugly. So I bought a pair of Mary Janes in chocolate. They were narrower and well nicer looking. I wore them around all day at my family's cookout and my feet were still sweating in them. Geez, I hope this is just a "breaking them in" thing. I was hoping that they would work for me in the Sep. heat of Florida but they don't seem to be holding up too well in the summer Ohio heat right now.

I also think they are ugly I bought a pair of caymens before our last trip just to try......I ended up wearing them every day, and it was the only time we've gone when I did not get blisters. I am now a crocs supporter and recomend the shoes to everyone. I may have on uglly shoes, but I'm not the only one

I love mine! My feet don't sweat at all in them. I bought a pair of the Mary Janes but I can only wear those for so long before they start to rub my foot raw. I go with the traditional, real wide, Mickey looking ones.

perhaps you should try the Athens, these are Flip-flop style.

Oooh, I'm so excited to see this link. I was gonna ask last night but couldn't find the link and then my comp. crashed on me so I was heading here to search for a croc thread again. lol.

Anyway, I wear the traditional ones with the holes (Dont know what they are called) They are in brown so don't look too loud, nice and mild looking. Anyway, I LIVE in mine but have never been too much of a walker. Now we went for an hour long walk yesterday (want to start these walks regularly to get ready for the trip in the fall) and I was sad to discover that my big toe on the right was a bit sore when I got home, it felt like it had been rubbing. BOO HOO, I totally was planning to wear these. I did wear them without socks, does anyone have advice?? Would wearing them with socks fix this?? What if after a day of walking I end up with blisters from them That would make me sad b/c I ADORE my crocs and really want them for the comofort factor.
Any suggestions????

AS FAR AS SWEATING... do they have the holes in them? I have a pair without holes for work and my feet are ALWAYS damp in them and I'm really not a sweater! holes make a world of dif. for me.

but I am being sucked in by everyone here on the DIS and am thinking of buying them now. I am only 5'2" and I have size 8 and a half shoe size (thanks to 2 pregnancies!). I hate the thought of my feet looking even bigger than they do now but it sounds like the smaller looking crocs may not measure up to the originals in terms of comfort. Is this true?

We willl be leaving for our next trip in just 12 days. Which do you recommend considering I hate the originals and I don't do the parks non-stop all day without breaks. We will go in morning, take break to swim and then back after dinner. Also Do I have time to order on line and if so who has the best deals?

I think the Croc Scutes are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I bought another pair this year, and they're not quite as soft to walk on as last years, but still very comfortable. Also, I have a pair of Mickey Beach ones and feel that they are more comfortable than the Caymans. I think the Beach are wider than the Caymans. I used to get blisters all the time, and I didn't have any wearing my Crocs. They're great!!

I get my Crocs really fast from Shoebuy.com. They have a lot of different styles and they have free shipping and free return. Also, Surf and Dirt have a lot of styles, but no free shipping. If you go into the Croc website, they have everything and I received a code for free shipping. It's spring07. If you order from them, just type spring07 at the end of placing your order. I purchased the cleo style croc for our trip in May. Loved them. They come in normal shoe size, I'm an 8, bought an 8 and they fit great. I've only seen them at Dick's Sporting goods. They do not look like the traditional crocs with all the holes. They are more of a sandal with 2 straps. I wore them the whole trip and they were very comfortable. No sweaty feet either.

Sorry, I just don't get everyone's fascination with Croc's. I tried some on in the store one day because everybody talks about how comfortable they are; therefore, I thought these things must be super soft...almost like walking on air...not! The ones I tried where not all that cushiony (?). In fact, they were not as soft as the tennis shoes that I wore that day.

Am I missing something? Does it take a while to break them in? What's going on?

personally i like the mary janes. i've tried on the beach and the caymens and had a hard time fitting into both of them. tried on the mj's and voila they fit perfect. i have very narrow feet though, so i felt like i was swimming around in the normal clog types. the mary janes have that extra strap that goes over the top of the foot that makes me feel secure.

Has anyone had experience with these? After looking through some reviews at Zappos.com, these seem to answer the less than aesthetically pleasing feelings about Crocs. Most people say they are less clunky and sloppy looking than Crocs, while still maintaining the same comfort benefits...some even said they're more comfortable. I have never tried on any of these type of shoes before...but I would certainly hate for sore, blistered feet to put a damper on our WDW experience! I bought a pair of cleo Crocs that I love!!! I just returned home from WDW and alternated between them and my Tevas. No blisters, no nothing. What a great investment!

Well I am going to let my mom try the Croc MJ's that I bought. I can't stand them. I ended up getting Teva Mush sandals (I have the Teva Olawahu and love them.) and this year I bought BodyGlide to put on the tops of my feet. I personally find the Tevas to be more like walking on clouds than the crocs and well they are cuter.
