We will be going to WDW for the 24 hr MK Event in late May. We will only have 4 days/3 nights. Here is the scenario we are looking for thoughts on to see if would work. So, on Sat evening we will be in Epcot and want to watch Illuminations at 9 p.m. It says the show is about 12 minutes. We will watch by the area of the World showcase between those twin stores, near the entrance to WS. Then, as soon as Illuminations is over, we will rush as fast as possible(safely as possible, and we will have an Ecv), to the monorail and try to get to Wishes that begins at 10 p.m. Obviously, we won't get a great spot to watch, but we will get to where we can. Then we will stay and do a few rides before heading back to our resort. We'd stay longer but they took away the Sat evening Emh hours from 12 - 2 a.m.

So, is this watching the one fireworks show then leaving quickly to try to catch the fireworks show in the other park via monorail, something that should work, or no way we can get from Epcot to Mk via monorail at that time of night on a Sat in late May? TIA! :goodvibes

I've not done the route, so I couldn't say one way or another, but when we were at Epcot, Illuminations was delayed in starting by at least 20 minute (due to a rain storm between 7pm and 8pm. I'd think your margins of transfer are pretty tight if everything runs to time, but be aware there are reasons there might be delays in the show, and that could scupper everything!

I'd think the ECV would be a big factor in delaying your transit, but you might make it. Worth the try!

Remember you have to transfer from the Epcot monorail to the MK one at the TTC, so it's down one ramp and up another, and of course the added wait time for a train and to load. If you get to the TTC and the time looks too tight to get into the park to watch Wishes there, just go down to the ferry dock and watch it from afar. Still a great show, and a new perspective. Good luck, sounds fun!

Very possible.:)

I've done it many times and always made it to MK in time, but you have to stay FOCUSED!:)

The key is to turn and head quickly for the Monorail AS SOON as the last fireworks explode for ROE(you are watching from the correct location to attempt this)!

The room for any delays is very small,so there is a always a chance you won't make it,but I think would be fun fun to try anyway-seeing the 2 shows back-to-back is amazing!:)

(IllumiNations runs longer than 12 minutes.)

But, no need to even attempt to get all the way to MK.
Just take the monorail to TTC (the Epcot Monorail's only other stop is at TTC.)

Once there, move over to the upper part of the ramp to the ferry boat dock.
Wishes is spectacular (with great audio) from that vantage point.
(And, you won't have to rush to make it there.)

Note: you are not allowed to stand directly in the actual Ferry loading area.

Great suggestion!:)

I would still try to make it to MK because of Tinker Bell, etc. but TTC will definitely do in a pinch.

I actually prefer to watch Disney's Celebrate America from TTC because of the 360 degree and Mirror Fireworks.:)
