Illuminations help please

I'm thinking of attempting to book an Illuminations (Specialty) Cruise for the night we arrive ... BUT, only if we don't need Park Passes for this.

Can someone help me please? Has anyone else done this?

No, you won't need park admission to take the cruise. Be sure to ready the Illuminations Cruise thread which tells exactly how to go about booking the cruise. We tried 3 days in a row before we got through. And, just by chance, two members of our party got through on the same day. Go figure.

If at first you don't suceed, try, try again!

I started trying 90 days from our day of arrival at the world at 6:55 a.m. and they were all booked. I tried every morning for the next 11 days with no luck. After that I tried about once or twice a week with no success until SEVEN DAYS before we left and there was a cancellation for the night that worked perfectly into our plans! I kept it a secret from my family and made it my surprise for the kids and the other family we were going with. It was absolutely awesome, but I thought I was going to burst keeping it to myself!

Very True!
Never give up! Specialty Cruises are canceled for all sorts of reasons and sometimes a boat and driver is left waiting at the dock! I always suggest that once you arrive on Disney property stop by Bayside Marina (10am to 5pm) ask if there are any available cruises and also ask to be put on the cancellation list. Give them the dates your at WDW, Resort and room number. This way they can call you if something becomes available.
