Hi There,

A question for someone who has done this before. Is is very smokey. If you are very sensitive to smoke would this bother you. Have read that it tends to be right in the middle of it. Any opinions I would love to hear.

There's no good way to answer because mother nature controls it. We've been on about a dozen cruises and my hubby is very sensitive to smoke and he's had no problems to date. We may have been lucky each time. I have heard others talk about the smoke. In reality there are land spots that are closer then the boats; so, I could see it being worse in some other areas based on proximity.

I would wear a mask if you are even slightly concerned because I love the cruises and wouldn't miss them.

I have done the cruise three times and have not experienced the smoke problem. I experienced it more when we were sitting outside Norway! I agree it probably depends how the winds are going that evening, so if you have a big problem with smoke, take a mask with you just in case. I would not let the potential smoke problem take away from doing such a wonderful thing. The Illuminations cruise is a great way to view Illuminations!!!!

We did a cruise on 10/11/03 and didn't have a problem with the smoke coming our way. It was a humid, rainy night and the smoke from the show just stayed right in the middle of the lagoon. We loved the cruise and wouldn't have missed the experience for anything, but we probably won't do it again. There are better places to view Illumination's from. But don't miss it, take a mask as they suggested.
