Illuminations Fireworks Cruise - Capacity & Tipping ?

We started talking months ago about doing an Illuminations Cruise during an upcoming adults only trip to Food & Wine. We booked one, and at the time only 6 people were going. We're so much fun (partial sarcasm) that our group is now at 11. So my question is this ...

Will they let 11 on the boat, or is it hard capped at 10 ? I think we got 11 on before, but there were a lot of kids - these would be 11 adults. The price differential if were splitting 2 boats versus 1 is substantial, obviously.

Bonus question - what's the standard tip for a Captain ? I think I way over tip ... just wondering what others usually give for a boatload.

It is hard capped at 10 for safety reasons. They won't take 11.
I tipped 20% of the rental fee

As Hopefully mentioned 10 is a hard cap so you won't all get on the boat

Our driver in May took us over to HS to see those fireworks so our cruise was longer (plus he set up birthday balloons/banner) etc.... We tipped $100 as he was awesome.

Barring any value added (HS, birthday stuff) we'd do 20% as well....

Why not see if someone or a couple don't mind not going. It might solve the capacity issue.

No offense but if your 10 are larger people that can be a problem, too. It can get pretty tight.

Anyone taken an Illuminations cruise recently that can confirm whether they still offer discounts for AP or DVC ? I know the last 4 or 5 cruises we took we got a 10% AP discount on, but the person I just spoke to at 407WDWPLAY told be there are no discounts offered and insisted that there never have been ... which I know to be false. I think our last cruise was 2014, so I guess it's possible they ceased offering an AP discount, but I think maybe the person I spoke to just didn't really know what she was talking about.
