It was the best part of DISCON for me. All of us with our lime green lanyards on the little island there. Together...we were just together. It's hard to describe. It was the most magical time for me. I got all teary, I get teary just remembering it.

I felt as though I was with a group of very dear friends, even though I had only met many of them a few days earlier. It was just the sweetest time for me and I will never forget it.

I'm so looking forward to DISCON this year and looking forward to watching Illuminations with my dear friends one more time.

Katholyn

You are absolutely right, Katholyn. It was one of those special moments that is just frozen in time for me....one that I will never ever forget.

Hoping that this year is just as special!

I wish that there were some way that I could share my videotape of IllumiNations with all of you. Near the very end of the program, I turned my camera away from the fireworks and towards the crowd of DISers who were watching the show.

It was truly a magical evening and one which I will always remember.

I wish you could show it too TC....I watched it yesterday and cried and cried...it was truely magical....

Oh and thnks TC...you are tops!

You guys have me crying just thinking about this, and I wasn't even there last year !!!

I'm especially looking forward to sharing this with my 2 daughters.

It really was an unforgetable experience.

I didn't get to go to DIS CON last year since I was still in school, but I can't wait for this year! I know that the Illuminations party will be so incredibly memorable!!!

I saw Illuminations twice at Discon. The first night, a group of us walked over after the opening reception, stopped in England and saw the British Invasion, then we went over and had some desserts in france:p , then I watched the show with some very close friends :) It was very memorable and I cherious that memory to this day.

The second time was with the group, on the Island, with the desserts. That is a truely magicial experience, it was both happy and sad at the same time. It was the last night of the convention but I felt so fortunate to have been there, in that setting, seeing it with friends. It is the main event I truely look forward to doing again, there is nothing else like it. :)

I have to agree, too. It was the most incredible evening. I don't think any words can truly describe all the emotions running through the crowd that night. A night to remember. :) :)

Patrick - I remember both of those nights - and I wouldn't trade those memories for anything

Here are screen captures from the IllumiNations video that I mentioned earlier.

Great pictures from your video, John!

Unfortunately, I don't have the same great memories of sharing this event with all of you. :( I think I spent most of the time trying to keep up with Katelyn, so that I could share Illuminations with her! :D She was moving around that island all over the place! :D :D

We are still not sure if we are doing DIS Con this year, or just the mini-meets. But, the Illuminations Dessert Party is definitely a "PRO" on the "pros and cons" lists I've been making in my head all week!! :D :D :D

Thank you Katholyn (nativetxn) for posting this.

And thank you for the pictures John (Towncrier).

It was a wonderful time. I love EPCOT's Ilumminations and I must go several times every trip. I also bought their CD last year with the Candlelight Processional discount, and I play it on the way to work all the time.

The music is so inspirational...full of hope...and I remember all the wonderful DIS Friends that I was so grateful to make and meet from just talking on this little internet board.

Go figure...a bunch of strangers that have never met before...get together and meet at a place that we all have in common...Walt Disney World...and we all met each other...and hugged...and laughed...and smiled...and cried...and became "DIS Friends For Life."

We also could support each other after the September 11, 2002 cowardly attack on our country and fellow citizens...on our way of life... if only by hugs and having that in common with each other.

I thought of all the heros in the aftermath. Heros were everywhere. Whether they were man, woman, child...regardless of skin color(the heros were all the same color after being covered in ash), and regardless of religion.

The heros ran to the disaster...the heros rushed up the towers...the heros rushed up the plane aisle to save our Capital Building...the heros rushed into the fires of the pentagon...the heros carefully sifted through tons of ash to find those heros...the heros serving our country in war...so many heros. So many of the very best that the United States of America has to offer and still offer today.

That's what I think about that night...and I was able to share it with so many...many DIS friends...if only by standing by them or giving them a hug.

I am very grateful that I was able to be there last year. I hope that you can be there this year.

God Bless America.

Ray :)

Thanks, Ray. That was beautiful. Now, I have to go get a kleenex. :D

Aww, Ray, I'm all puddled up now. You are so eloquent sometimes. I can't wait to give you a {{{HUG}}} in person :)
