Is this worth it? Seems to be not terribly priced compared to many. Seems like good seats. We have dinner res at SAI at 7:00. And party starts at 9:00. Would it matter at all if we were a bit late? Or should I bump dinner to 5:45 if we want the party?

We have done MK Dessert party, and for us it is totally worth it just to avoid the crazy crowds and have a great view.

At Epcot, there are so many prime viewing areas, I am not sure its worth it?

We try for an R&C reservation on the deck out back.....its by far the best place for Illuminations....Tokyo Dining is also good.

I would think dinner at 5 plus dessert party would be way too much food. I would pick one or the other.

Mulling over this one vs. the Star Wars version - has anyone done both and can comment on if they are "worth it"? (Very subjective, I know).

OP, I struggle justifying the cost of kids over 9 as they're not having any alcohol; I wish they had a "underage" price for these dessert parties....

I have heard very good reviews on all of the HS parties. I am not inclined to do any, but if I were, I would pick a HS one over any of the others (except a wishes cruise one)

The desserts for the HS one look really great, but the Illuminations Show looks better. Oh... decisions, decisions!

Can't comment on the party, but the HS fireworks (the Star Wars ones) blow Illuminations out of the water IMO. (and the opinion of my family) The Star Wars fireworks are simply fantastic.

We did Illuminations Dessert Party this past Friday and we were really disappointed (we'd attended in Dec2014 and loved it so we were excited to attend.). Food quality and selection was a lot lower than it used to be.

On Saturday we did the HS Star Wars Dessert Party and loved it! Great food and drinks-- plus you get a Chewbacca mug to take with you. The fireworks show was awesome as well. We'd do this one again for sure.

Last night we did the Ferrytale Wishes one and enjoyed it but think it's more geared to adults and is pricier.

We would do the Star Wars one, but of course WDW decided last week to not have the Star Wars Fireworks on May 14th, the day we will be at HS. Of course they told us we could flip park days (but we would lose our fp+ and our ADRs) or we could upgrade our tickets to hoppers for our five day tickets for four at a nice chuck of change. Grrrrrrr.

We have done the Illuminations Dessert Party, Wishes Dessert Party and the Ferry Tale Wishes Dessert Party. Do you see a theme here?

Of the three, Illuminations was my least favorite. While the view was ideal, there were no seats (although I had done research ahead of time and knew to grab a table near the low wall so I could rest my park weary feet for a bit). The desserts were also my least favorite with some of them tasting like they had come from the frozen section of the grocery store. Not that they were bad, but I felt the other parties had better.

There are so many really great viewing spots for Illuminations, I think having a nice dinner and settling in elsewhere in the park to see the show might be a better use of the money. Just my opinion for what it's worth.
