Tell me more! A kind soul has offered me two spaces on an Illuminations Cruise for 12 June and I would like to try this (it will work out about $16-20 per person). Can someone tell me if they have done it and if it is worth it?

Thanks

Nick

I haven't done this but from all the talk on these boards it is a must do but extremely difficult to secure - you are very luck to have been offered places, grab them and enjoy!

I have not done this, Nick, but I have read posts by people who are planning this for their second or more time, so it must be worth doing!

You are going to have such a fantastic holiday! :goodvibes First breakfast at Cindys and then an Illuminations cruise! Do you have room for a little one in your suitcase? :rotfl2:

On the way there I'll make sure I have room for a large one!! It's the way back that might be the problem!!

I'm saving room to bring back Pal Mickey! Is it wrong I'm obsessed with planning a Disney holiday? (I know you'll all back me up here!!)

Also, if it leaves from the Beach Club Marina, can I park there?

Nick

We went on the Illuminations Cruise last November,we shared with 2 other DIS familys from America,we had a great time it really is worth it.
The Captin takes you around on the lake first telling you facts about everything Disney...Hotels,Parks,Lakes,Attractions,places to eat....before you take your spot just under the bridge.

The show its self is really well done, although after seeing Wishes,Fireworks on Halloween night & Fantasmic you do get a bit blase about things so if poss it is best to do the Illuminations Cruise before you see wishes as that really takes your breath away ::yes::

Also dont forget to put on insect repellent or wear long trousers if poss, them little so and so's really have a good go at you if they get the chance :(

Parking; We parked at The Yacht and Beach club resort,we stayed off site but we had been into one of the parks that day so we had already payed for parking.

Go for it,it really will be one of the highlights of your holiday :)

After many trips to WDW we did our first Illuminations Cruise in Oct last year. We shared with some friends that we met on the DIS

Can someone tell me if they have done it and if it is worth it?

In one word YES...it had to be one of the best nights that we had on our holiday..IMHO its a must to do.

Nick, if you have the opportunity, take it! I tried for seventeen different days last time and didn't get one!

They sound amazing and I am desperately hoping we can get one for our August trip this year. I'm leaving the reserving up to my Dream's Unlimited Agent though! :teeth:

We've done 4 IllumiNations cruises now and all with other (US) DISers. It really is one of the most special experiences of all. The view isn't the best - you moor up underneath the bridge between UK and France and it's a bit too far from the globe for my liking, but you'll feel like a VIP. There are only 6 boats available each evening (which is why it's so difficult to book) and you'll get some very envious looks from the people on the bridge above you.

Try to buy or download the IllumiNations music before your trip - familiarity with it will make it even more special. I start to well up as soon as it starts.
