Illuminations cruise or MK EMH's?

We have an Illuminations cruise booked for a Wed night during our trip. Now that EMH's have been released for evenings we are thinking of cancelling our cruise to go to the MK that Wed. This is the wed. before presidents week. We will be there for presidents week too but I'm sure MK will be very crowded the following wed. evening as MK is open until 10pm most of that week. Would you cancel your Illuminations cruise to go to the MK after hours? We have one DD14 and she loves MK at night but would enjoy the Illuminitions crusie too!

Personally, I would cancel the cruise. I have done 2 Illuminations Cruises on Breathless - The first one, in 1998, was great. There was only Breathless & 2 Pontoons under the bridge & Breathless did a Burst after the show was over. That made it worth the cost. It was a delightful evening.
The next Cruise we did was in 2000. There were a good 5 or 6 other boats under the bridge & no more Burst afterwards (legal dept. strikes again) The view wasn't that great, it was no longer intimate & we had a bad night wind-wise....meaning the smoke was blowing right into us.
After our second experience, I would no longer spend the money on an Illuminations cruise. If I were doing a pontoon with a large group of friends it might still be fun, but for a special family treat, I'd pass.....

That's just my Humble Opinion. There are lots of folks who love Illuminations Cruises, I'm just no longer one of them. I'd rather have the extra hours in a less crowded MK before President's Week Crowds strike.....

I'm now thinking the same way - had a Wishes cruise scheduled for a Sun night because the parks all closed early, now I think I'll cancel the cruise and turn the kids loose in MGM that night instead - hard decision, I was surprising them with the cruise, so I can't even ask which they'd prefer without ruining the surprise !! We're having dinner at O'Hana's the next night, though, and can watch Wishes from there - it's hard to pass up extra park hours on a short trip off-season !!

Thank you for your replys! I'm leaning towards cancelling the Illuminations cruise and going to MK for EMH. Any more opinions?
