#1...when you call to make the reservation...and you say "specialty cruise" how do they know it won't be the "wishes" cruise??

#2...Does anyone have experience with the Cold Weather in December....I know that you never know what the weather will be . Last December we had two very cold days ! Did anyone have a bad experience or couldn't enjoy the cruise because it was too cold??

#3 ....Taking a 3 year old?? At this age it's still hard to tell what will happen...will he be too sleepy, scared etc. Does anyone have good experiences with smaller children and the cruise....he is not scared of fireworks in general.

Thanks for any advice anyone can offer :)

Well, I can take a stab only at #2. I went on an Illuminations Cruise last December and it was so cold! We were almost all huddled under heavy woolen blankets, shivering, wearing hats and gloves, etc. But did it interfere with my enjoyment? Not at all. I loved the cruise! Would do it again in December without hesitation.

We went on an Illuminations Cruise last December, and it was very cold, but the driver of the boat provided us all with warm blankets, and it was a great evening. We had a spectacular time. We had our three year-old granddaughter with us. She stayed awake for a while as we cruised through the lakes between MGM and Epcot. By the time Illuminations started, she was sound asleep, wrapped in a blanket. She didn't wake up until we were back at the dock getting off the boat. She wants to do another Illuminations Cruise this year, since she says "I'm a grown-up kid now and I can stay awake until at least 9:30" LOL!!

I was wondering many of the same things. We're hoping to get an Illuminations cruise for Friday 12/10 and I'm a little concerned about the weather. We'll be coming down from New England, but cold is cold. I was thinking of maybe arranging to have some hot chocolate and cookies on board with us. I believe you can work with private dining to set something up. I will definitely double check on the blanket availability also.

I'm planning to do the same thing.

I hope I'll be able to snag one of the boats for Christmas Eve.
