Illuminations Cruise Central--MAY

I am a young 65 year old women traveling to Disney World on May 12, leaving 21. Woudl truly like to share a cruise for either or both.

I just called to check for availability for a 'specialty cruise' for our trip in May. Seems someone must have cancelled their trip on the "Breathless" for May 13th, because I GOT IT! WOO HOO!

Just want to clarify how the cruises work...specifically with the "Breathless".
Are you booking a BOAT for a time-period and it goes where you want or do each of the boats have it's own specific itinerary that it does nightly? (does that make sense? )

As of now, it's just DH and I. I tried to get my mom and her DH (who live in Fla) to come with us in celebration of Mother's Day and our 1st anniversary...but looks like they're declining. That means we'll probably have space for 5 if anyone's interested.

I'm very excited. Almost excited enough to keep it just the two of us, but I feel that when it comes to WDW, the more the merrier!

You rent the boat, you don't pay per person. Both types of boats are $250 with the tax. The pontoon boats hold 10 people, so if you have 10 people it would be $25 per person, but if you only had 4 people it would be $62.50 per person, KWIM? The Breathless holds 7 people - it would come out to about $36 per person if you had the 7.

Would anyone be interested in splitting a boat or have room for 3? Possibly May 1? or about anytime between April 26-May5??? We are coming down for our wedding and have my VERY well behaved ds5 I would GREATLY appreciate it !!

I booked the breathless last April for my husbands birthday present, and it was amazing. Since it was a birthday present, It was just the Captain myself and DH. Our captain was the best, he took us around on the lake and asked us if we minded going really fast. Um no... we don't mind so he just let the boat go all out it was so cool. We went on the lake to MGM then he took us to dock the boat. We were not under the bridge as the pontoon boats are but were anchored to the cement barrier and were on the other side of the bridge in the lagoon that illuminations is on. Anyone standing on the bridge and on the sides around the lake waiting to see illuminations could see us. We had allot of people staring at us and felt like prince and princess since everyone was waving at us, some people even took photos so beware.

FYI The pontoon boats are docked behind the breathless. Our captain said that the Breathless gets the premiere spot above all other boats. That night some company booked a private yacht boat where they were able to eat dinner and had waiter and such and they were even behind us, then they pontoon boats were behind them. I think our driver was Mike but I'm not sure you should request him if you can.

Our captain got out of the boat and sat on the concrete barrier for the whole display, he said he wanted us to have the boat to ourselves so we could enjoy it. During the boat ride our driver asked us if we knew the story behind the illuminations display and we said no so during the fireworks he was explaining to us exactly what was going on. It was even more of an amazing show once you understand the meaning behind the photos being displayed on the globe.

He then took us around the lake again and the finally back to the yacht club to end our trip. IT was longer than and hour and so worth the price.

That said it was just the 3 of us on the boat, I know that they say you can seat 7 but I have to tell you I wouldn't want more than 4 people on the boat, 3 in the back bench seat and one in the seat next to the driver. It really doesn't make sense to me to have more it would not make it a comfortable or as special of a cruise. PM me if you want to see photos us sitting in the boat.

Thanks so much for the offer Butterfly73 ... that is sooooooo nice of you.
I was very, very disappointed Wed. morning when I was told that the boats were sold out for the 30th (7:02am) but on Thursday morning I was able to get the cruise for the next day (May 31.) We will have to change some ARD's around but it will be well worth it I am sure.

I was able to call this morning and get the Illuminations Cruise for Saturday June 3, which works much better with our plan for the week, therefor I will be cancelling an Illuminations Cruise for Wednesday, May 31 and would love to see a Disboard person get it if they need it.
I will be calling this afternoon at 4:00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have room on a Wishes cruise Thursday 5/18 - it leaves from the Polynesian.....We booked the pontoon and there are 4 of us....DH, me, two DD's 3 and 1....so I believe we have room for 4...I think they hold 8.
