Illuminations Cruise Central For December

After the disappointment this morning of calling at 7am and not getting a cruise something made me call again at 3pm. Good thing, I got one! Someone must have cancelled (thank you whoever you are!) and we got it for Dec 18th. We are sharing already with another family but I just wanted to post this to say don't give up calling! People do cancel and you might be able to get one!

Most folks will share a cruise for equal shares, meaning if they get 10 people on the cruise, the cost + tip is split 10 ways. The cost is $250, the tip is generally around $50, so most folks call it $30 per person. Some will divide it differently, if they have fewer people on the boat, so the price is more evenly distributed amongst all the passengers. That would increase the cost per person accordingly. If you're looking to join someone, and you have 3 people, I think you might expect to be asked for $90+ for your family. This is not to say that some kind soul might have you along for that (DISers are a generous lot!), but in the interest of fairness, you might offer to split more equally.

Sorry Disboarders, I received PM's and did not reply to any. My computer was down for a few weeks and I was not always available to use another. The five of us Me, DW, DM, DS 7, and DD 3, still have five available spots for the Saturday December 2, 8:00 Illuminations Cruise. Anyone interested, we want to share (not to hog it to ourselves)

Thanks for the heads up. I thought the price of the reservation was $150 (according to the info in the Illuminations Sticky at the top of the page). I just noticed that the sticky was put there in 2004.

I thought the cruise would be $150 + $30 tip (20%) to put it at $180 or $18 per person. My family of 3 would be $54...but, I was willing to go to $70 or $80.....

I don't think I'm willing to pay $150 to split a $300 cruise, though.

Just called at 7am today to book an Illuminations cruise for Dec. 25. Didn't get it, even though we had 2 phones going!

I did book a Wishes Premium cruise (with music) though. If I cancel it, I'll let you all know.

We already have another family to go with us, but I am waiting to hear if they got an Illuminations cruise or if they want to come with us on our Wishes cruise.

In the build up to the 90 day slot - it's obviously got to me. Started dialling as instructed (have even done a trial run) - when I did get through realised I'd picked up the wrong instructions and got WDW dining!

So there went my cruise (if I'd have been lucky enough in the first place) - better luck next time???

DH and I have a trip booked (just the two of us) and would love to share a illuminations cruise or wishes cruise on December 12, 13, or 15th. We just returned and were able to share with another disboarder on an illuminations cruise and it was fantastic. We would love to share again if anyone has any openings for just two of us!
