Hi

Can anyone give any tips for booking an illuminations cruise. I've read about starting to call just before mid day,but are there any shortcuts once you get an answer.

From what I've read you have to go through the press 1 press 3 etc. Does anyone know what the options are and if they can be pressed without listening to the messages. I know these get booked very quickly, so anythng that shaves a few seconds off the call connection time would be very welcome.

Hi Mpet

Each time I have rung to get a speciality cruise I have always followed these instructions Here
I have been lucky enough to get one each time I have rung up. Today I just rang and got a wishes cruise for the 28th Dec.

Good Luck for when you ring :wizard:

Thanks

I did see that, but I wasn't sure if they were still current as the post was old. I'll go and practive speed dialling now!! :)

Good luck! I so enjoyed the cruise last year. The secret is not even to allow the person speaking to get the first word out. As soon as you hear her start to talk, press the appropriate button. Do that each time and you may be lucky. Also, get on the phone just 5 minutes before opening and dial until opening time. When connected if you are in a queue, dont put the phone down. You will only go to the bottom of the queue.

it depends when you'll be at WDW...
when we were there just now in september they couldn't give away the cruises....they were still all available...

by the way, i think the Wishes cruise is much nicer than the illuminations cruise (but since we hate illuminations and love wishes, it's not surprising that i would say that)...

Interesting you should say that, as I was a bit pee'd that I never got the Illuminations Cruise and ended up with the Wishes Cruise (by the way I booked very late) but loads of people have said I was lucky to get the Wishes one since I didn't call on the 12th September looking for one at the end of November. Less than the normal 90 days you need.

Still good to hear people saying they liked Wishes better then the other ;)

well i simply love wishes.....and take into account that i typically hate fireworks.....but the synchronization of the fireworks and words and music is just lovely....all four of us love it (including my 18 year old son and 20 year old daugther)...

the wishes cruise puts you in a very good vantage point for seeing both the back fireworks and the front fireworks (you'll understand what i mean, if you view it from inside the park)....plus you'll see the castle (which changes color in coordination with the story...)..

i've never liked illuminations....and we've viewed it from every vantage point, including a VIP section as well as the illuminations cruise.....i really don't like it and the cruise didn't make any difference....i felt it was a terrible waste of money....

on the other hand, i love wishes and the cruise adds to the romance...
