So I made the ADRs for our January trip months ago and one of the places that we picked that we had never tried was Rose and Crown, which I booked for dinner at 7:15.

At the time, it wasn't our intent to see Illuminations from there but now that it's slated to be ending, I thought maybe we could. Is that time way too early for that to work out? We wouldn't be opposed to eating a little later but of course I can't move the reservation now. What's the recommended time for an ADR that would allow us to see the show anyway? If we go in and ask but tell them we're willing to wait for a table would that work?

Thanks for your help!

We have had dinner there many times and watched Illuminations. We normally had an 745-8 reservation time so we could time relax and enjoy the show. Make sure you ask for a table outside as well so you can watch the show right from there. We never had an issue when we requested that and it always seemed to work out for us. As always it is just a request and there is not guarantee that they will have a table outside.

We had a 7:10 reservation at Rose and Crown and it worked out okay to stay for Illuminations. We did ask to sit outside and they were able to accommodate us. We were a party of six. You could look for something later but I also would not feel bad keeping what you have and letting them know that is what you want to do when you arrive.

We've eaten at Rose and Crown several times for illuminations and our reservations were always between 7:10 PM and 7:40 PM with between four and six people. Keep in mind that you may have to wait for a table so even with a 7:15 PM reservation you may have to wait 10 - 15 minutes.

It doesn't hurt to put in a request for the outside patio but they will tell you they cannot guarantee it.

I'll also chime in and say we have also had reservations for a party of 3 as well as a party of 20 for around 7:20-7:30 and been accommodated each time. Dinner service tends to take a while, so it's likely you are fine with a party of 6 at 7:15. As PPs have said, it is always a request to be seated outside, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Also know that if it doesn't work out, there is a reserved patio for indoor diners to watch Illuminations as well.

EE16EA13-ACED-42CF-9175-ACC0D211A910.jpeg Generally we go between 7:30 & 8pm, and we ask to sit outside, we’ve been pretty fortunate each time. By the time you have drinks, appetizers, your entrees and dessert, you’re there. This was our view last October, pretty spectacular and the food was very good, a win, win! 7:15 would be doable, check in closer to 7:15, they may seat you a bit later.

We love Rose & Crown and have dined there many times. Often asking for the outside patio has worked for us but on our past two visits we received the exact opposite when we asked to be seated on the patim. Both times we did end up waiting awhile but when we were seated it was right behind the check in desk which I think are the worst seats in the place. Just be aware you might not be seated in an ideal seating location.

We just did it once for Illuminations and the view was fantastic! We sat outside, down a level. We requested the location when we checked in.
