Illumination/Wishes Cruise Question

How much do you usually tip the driver for the cruise? Do you figure the tip as a percentage of the cost or just a flat amount? I am trying to figure out how much cash to bring for tips.

If this is right amount or not,we tipped $20.00 and he seemed pleased with that.Hope others can relate more solid information on this to you.

I think that is how much we tipped to for our Illuminations cruise in October '03.

As the price for the cruise has skyrocketed, so has the percentage tip. No doubt they're doing better on the tip than they used to.

I think we tipped $30 last year. Although not everything he had to say was entirely accurate, I could tell he was trying hard to entertain everyone and he did a good job making it a fun "birthday cruise" for my niece.

So with the new prices would $35 or $40 be ok? Or do I need to tip 20%? Sorry I don't mean to be cheap but with a 20% tip it makes the cruise $300. Oh well I guess it is Disney and I really want to do the cruise so I just need to suck it up and pay.

Ummm duh!! How could I have forgotten that I will have to tip our cruise person! Good thing this thread came up or our guy would have hated us! Thank you for reminding me to add this to the budget.

we tipped our driver(chad-awesome btw) 40.00 for a party of 5, we had another couple join us & I think they gave him 20.00. This was before the price increase. Chad also took us back to shore for a potty emergency for my son & took the rest of the party to see the remainder of Fantasmic. He was the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!
