Hi --

I know this isnt a cruise question but I figured you experts could probably help me with this!!

Is it really worth $250 to book the boat to see the firework display at Epcot?

I called and got through and was able to book it but I thought it was $150 and then found out it had gone up to $250.

What are your ideas on this???? Thanks -- :confused3

i feel the 250$ is deff. worth the money for the cruise. :teeth: Illuminations is a fantastic show and you get the best view in the park. plus you dont have to claim your place at the park hours before the show, its already guaranteed. Hope you enjoy it!!! :thumbsup2

Its fun. We had lots of fun when we did it (for $150 or so).

But only you can put a dollar amount on what its worth to YOU.

It costs $250 for you (and your entire party) to sit and see the show, while folks directly above you (on the bridge) can see the same show for the price of an Epcot admission (for each person) .

So that's the deal.

We did this on our December trip and thought it was fantastic. It's funny that we had never done it on all of our many previous trips, but wait until the price goes up to try it :rotfl2:. We plan on doing this again in the future, in fact, making it a tradition on every trip (if we can get reservations). Only you, however, can determine if this much money is worth it to you.

I am not sure if it is the same thing that you are talking about but we took a pontoon boat from the YC and toured around before ending up at the show under a bridge. I hated it. The view was awful. The rest of the tour was cool and we learned a lot of stuff that I did not know but for the purpose of watching the show, it was awful. If money is not a big issue, do it for the experience but don't expect too much. Hope this helps. Have tons of fun.

Yes, that IS the cruise we are discussing.

I have done it, so I've got to ask why your view was "awful"?

Was there fireworks smoke?
Was your boat "parked" (tied up) too far under the bridge?

Having seen IllumiNations dozens of times, from all over Epcot, I thought the veiw from our pontoon boat was very good.

It's worth it if you share with another family. Otherwise, it's very pricey. Fun, worth it if you have disposable cash. I thought the view was great, and you really can't beat not having to fight the crowds after the show. Just take a bus from YC/BC to any other park, then to your resort (of course, I stayed at SSR, so I just hopped a bus to DTD and walked to my room from there.)
