Hi! We're from Rochelle and bought in to AKL with 180 pts in February. Our first DVC triip is this Thursday, also.

We're thinking of going to the D2D event Saturday, May 22nd, but wanted to make sure it's worth attending since we'll be driving 5 hours for it. Anyone have hotel suggestions for me? Also, how long to plan to spend at the event? Thanks.

I hope to attend the DTD event also. Haven't chosen a time slot yet. The only drawback is the date is right in the middle of finals for the high schooler and not sure he'll want to go that far when he needs to study (3 hour drive). Maybe I'll take the little one and make it a girls' weekend!

I bought my membership resale, but I was invited to this event. It sounds interesting but with so many bargains out there I just can't justify buying full price.

I love DVC and I really enjoy these boards but resale is the way to go!

Glad we could get the IL DVC'ers thread going again!
I didn't think we would be able to make it to the DTD event in a couple weeks because it's my weekend to work, but DBF and I are both off Fri so we're going to go that night. We don't have any Disney trips finalized yet so it will be a small way to get my Disney fix and meet some fellow DVC'ers and DIS'ers!

P.S. Extra shout out to my fellow Cubs fans ! Not sure about those Sox and Cards fans but at least your smart enough to love Disney!

I recommend using Priceline for anything in the Schaumburg or Hoffman Estates area - all will be in a 5-10 minute radius of Woodfield. There are a lot of great hotels around here and the prices you can get through Priceline are amazing!

The previous event lasted about 45 minutes to an hour for the program and the dance party lasted for awhile after that.

I grew up in Marengo and usually when I tell people that they say something like "isn't that at the truck stop off of 90" and I always say "yea, but I didn't grow up at the truck stop!"
Do you get that too? I guess at least they know we're on the map!

Hello from Tinley Park!! Well, I suppose I am in Orland now that DH and I just bought our first condo in Orland. Anywho, we have 160 points at BLT. Just came back from our first trip home which also happened to be our wedding and honeymoon trip!! Great to see so many DVCers in the area!
