We drive straight through. (and last year made 4 round trips to FL!!) Its a long drive, and its definitely harder on the way back. Theres nothing exciting to look forward to on the return trip, and Im always more tired from all the activity.

That said, I hate spending the money on a hotel room just for sleeping.

We try not to miss them. The last one they had was awesome!

Howdy neighbor!!! We live near 59 and SF road.....
We were not able to make the last DTD show but love them.
They really are dangerous though. You need to leave all forms of money at
home otherwise there's trouble.

Well I think we are still "new" members. Never seen this thread before. We joined last June with 100 BLT points and just added 170 more a couple of weeks back for a total of 270, but of course we still want more!

We have two trips planned one in June over Father's Day and then again over Thanksgiving weekend.

It is great to be among all the Disney Lovers of Illinois!!

I'm from Illinois (Mt. Prospect) but now I live in Atlanta. I actually have a guide at Woodfield. I visit family in Illinois twice a year and would much rather inject a bit of Disney into my time there than take the time away from Disney to talk to a guide in Orlando.

There does seem to be a high number of us from Illinois. We bought 200 SSR points by resale last spring, but I wonder how much impact the DVC store at Woodfield has had in boosting numbers from our state. We did go the the holiday party and were tempted, but didn't take the jump yet. Need a few years at our current point total to see how well it fits our needs.
