Illegal Happy Meals

Listen ladies. You keep your hands off him. I'm going to dedicate a whole bedroom wall to him. I could care less what he says. All I know is that he is positively dreamy. I will follow him on facebook or wherever. Sign me up.

Someone is a bit jealous.

Why don't they worry about illegal immigration and leave the Happy Meals alone?

Different levels of government. The county doesn't have the authority to do anything about illegal immigration. Even states don't really have that right, in precedent, though AZ is obviously challenging that with their new law. Immigration is a federal issue.

Well, this thread taken quite the pleasant tangent :woohoo: :lmao:

Lisa, I have no idea what you are talking about pixiedust:

No worries, soon to purchase a happy meal in AZ you will need to prove not only your citizenship but your blood pressure and cholesterol figures.
:rotfl2:

Not to mention your weight!

Yes, this is true. However, instead of worrying about Happy Meals, the California legislature's time would be better spent petitioning Congress for border help.

As a kid, I always got the meal so I could have the toy. And then I opened the toy and didn't eat my food.

Thought you just might like a perspective of a resident of the area in question. The Board of Supervisors for Santa Clara County make the "law" for the unincorporated area of the county. That means the "farm" and/or nonbusiness area. There are NO fast foods places in this area; they are all in the cities/towns of the county (and NOT under the "law"). There are nine restaurants in this area, including two county clubs, the Lion's Club etc----NOT one restaurant that serves any type of a "Happy Meal". :confused3 It would be so nice if people, including tv, news media and the internet, would just get the facts before jumping to conclusions. But, what would be the fun in that???

By the way, I do think that it is crazy that the Board of Supervisors took time and effort to do this. As if they did not have more important things to do:thumbsup2

So, if I am reading this correctly, this board took the time to propose and author a bill, debate said bill, inevitably revise this bill many times to get it to pass, vote on and pass this bill, spend time on determining enforcement of the bill....and all for a law that effects not a single person on the face of the Earth because no one in the area suject to the laws of this board fall under the category the bill addresses?

At least there was no waste of time and resources involved.

I don't think there is enough time in the day to do as well in the real world as on the DIS.

We have quite a large DIS WISH board contingent for the mini marathon and a meet on Friday night. A race day without rain would be nice, even if it is only until noon.

:thumbsup2 But rather than getting rid of that, our govt continues to subsidize it on one hand while taxing/banning/demonizing unhealthy foods on the other.
t!

This is where I think they should rethink allergy policies in school if they're going to get rid of junk food. Nuts, seeds, and even some fruits have been banned in certain classrooms due to allergies.

You are correct:thumbsup2

I'm just following him to say "ditto", not looking at his bum or drooling over him. (I can't see pictures on here anyway.)

FD, you are quite the DIS man it appears. Good thing you are a runner. ;)
