I'll never decide...

With kids that age I would totally do AofA... it is just SOOOO Disney. I've done split stays which are fun, but do require a bit of planning. You have to plan for time to pack up the room you're leaving, transfer the bags (either via your own car, cab, or Disney bell services), and then allow time to get to whatever park or restaurant you're headed to that day.

In the end there really is no bad choice from what you've listed. The kids will have a great time where ever you stay... we've stayed value to deluxe, in the end my daughter just wants to swim, and have good snacks.

ooo since you've been in both of resorts with the my favorite decor - which did you like more? Were the POR rooms noticeably bigger or nicer? How were the walks to buses and such? That's the largest complaint I hear for both resorts is the walk.

We've stayed at both too. I would love to stay in a RR again (booked for our next trip)... we had a VERY long walk but we were in the farthest room in the farthest building on the back side of the building facing the parking lot. If I booked RR again I would book a pool view as these rooms would not have a long walk, and the quiet pool is so beautiful.. we went to it almost every night.

For AofA LM rooms even the closest rooms have quite a walk. Which is not fun after walking in the parks all day. Some people don't mind it, but at that point I just want to rest.

The royal rooms are really special! They do seem bigger than the Little Mermaid rooms. Our room at POR was on the first floor of Oak Manor #9090. It faced a quiet pool. It was a great location. We did not swim, but it would have been so convenient to hop in the pool and then just step back to the room. To get to the main building (food court and main bus stop), we just had to walk around the pool, take a few steps on the path, cross the bridge and then we were there! Not bad at all! If you decide to stay at POR, request Oak Manor!

The walk from the Little Mermaid rooms seemed longer, but like I said there are some really cute distractions along the way.

I love the theming of both resorts for different reasons: I love the theming at AoA because of all the characters and how they really come alive! The pools are really great there! All of them have super fun theming. The attention to detail in the Cars section is amazing!

I love the theming at POR because it is so calm and peaceful, but still Disney! The resort is a great place to take a stroll or take a soothing boat ride. The royal rooms are now one of my favorite places to stay. Again the attention to detail is true Disney!

We have not stayed at WL so maybe you should pick that one so you can come back and report back to me! :P8-):goodvibes

Would you do a split stay at Port Orleans Royal Room for 4 nights and Wilderness Lodge for 2 ...OR... a full stay in a Cars suite at Art of Animation?

We're a family of 4 with a son turning 3 during the trip and our daughter will be 5. I'm not sure we'd need all the room in the suite. But, it's coming out the same price as the stay at POR & WL. I've already changed my trip a dozen times and I'm sure my TA is over me. ;)
We don't mind changing rooms but our kids are older. We love trying different resorts. Plus we love the WL. I would pick the POR and WL. But you know your kids and how hard it would be.

I have a question about the POR RR rooms. Which is better the RR Pool view or the River view? Our aunt will be with us and walking too long would be a lot. Or are those views about the same walking?
