Il Pochi il Fiero y Blabbermouths...Magical Reunion FINALLY!!!

Mary - what a complete trip report...Did you come home so that you could rest up.....And aren't get aways fun....we are trying to place a few with DVC points for later in the Spring/summer....

Not quite sure I understand the "reservation points" issue....must remember to read the fine print from DVC sometime....assuming I ever have any extra points. :lmao:

Don't tell Hedgie you went to Margaritaville without her....

You commented already about Harry Potter World - so my question is about the food --- good - better than WDW????

How fun Gator World....we have often joked about doing that. Maybe we should some day...and we have no excuse - it is right here.

Yeah - go mark - I love the Wave.

Sleep - sleep - you slept....nah, not possible. And don't get me started about the DDP.

And I am so glad you were able to have your DREAM birthday. Bet you cannot wait to sail on her.

I wish I could compose such great trip reports...

One day, garRy, we will be there! So far off I will have another birthday before that!! We will be lucky to be able to open the windows for 5 minutes in the next few weeks! I am so ready to air out the house. Don't want to have to put on a winter to do it though:rotfl:

So, I should not post the weather right now, then ---right?:rolleyes1

There's been news reports of a big announcement at the Port of Galveston next week....Hmmm, will it coincide with DCL's big announcement? Time will tell. The other possibility is that RCCL will annouce the Mariner will stay year-round in 2012... We might have to resurrect our special Dinner & Limo service:) Either way, it's a win for the Houston area!

Someone on the Main Boards said they'd heard New York for DCL.
I WISH it would be Galveston!!

And another WOW ---- great going Stace:mickeyjum:mickeyjum:mickeyjum

What's Next - Donald?:goodvibes

Don't you know we have the best and brightest kids (and grandkids) - his next word will be Supercalifragilisticexpialadocious, or however it's spelt ;)

How about Hedgie??
He is learning to sing the Hot Dog Song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

ANYTHING he starts saying now is a big deal to us. His pediatrician has advised sending him for speech therapy since he is such a slow starter. So the more words he adds on his own is great!

So this weekend was very exciting!

First, I learned how to drive stick shift, meaning that i can drive the jeep now. It's a little bumpy, but I learned how to drive it on the real road and everything in two days!!!! It was really fun to make my dad scared like that. haha:rotfl:

Second, I got to re-learn how to ride a bike. I figured that that would be essential when I go to college:)

Some people (my parents) have told me that that will be my main source of traveling.

The rumors had been NY in the summer & Galveston in the winter, I don't know if that's still the case or not - I just know that there have been articles posted in the Galveston paper about an imminent announcement. Cruise Critic is still leaning heavily towards RCCL Mariner year round.

As much as I love Disney and am proud of the Houston area- I don't think very many people outside of driving distance will be happy if the Magic comes here - it isn't a vacation destination like NY, Florida or California. We do have an empty cruise terminal about 15 minutes from our house built under the "Field of Dreams" philosophy - that would be perfect for Disney and it would cut our drive in half...:lmao:

I hope your dad wasn't as evil as mine. He carried a coffee cup full of hot coffee (not a travel mug) while I learned to shift gears. :scared1:

hope the bike has snow tires for the winter....:rotfl2:

Bragging time - Lauren was selected for the WV Governor's Honors Academy. This is a big honor - she is one of 180 students from across the state - she gets to spend 3 weeks at WVU - going to lectures, traveling, etc...

I am very proud of her!

Thanks Irene! Reservation points in a nutshell: If you use DVC points to book something other than a DVC resort (in our case Paradise Pier) and then cancel what you get back are reservation points. They can no longer be used at DVC resorts but can be used to book other locations (in our case Port Orleans).

Food at Universal I would say was on par with Disney. The breakfast we had in the hotel was nice, lunch was at the Irish Pub in Universal which was good and dinner at TCHOP CHOP which was very very good. I would say the breakfast was on par with what we would have gotten at say Yacht Club Galley, lunch on par with Rose and Crown and TCHOP CHOP equal to The Wave.

As for sleep we actually got a lot this trip. I took a few naps after all I was on vacation.

That would be really cool if DCL were to sail out of Galveston.

Congratulations!!!

Sounds like she will need a cruise at the end of summer to recuperate.

My cup had scotch in it.

She did really well. She even drove us to dinner at the beach last night. She managed to start from a stop light on one of our Florida hills without stalling. But then she proceeded to stall in a flat parking lot. :confused3

Practice, practice, practice.....

Good for you!! I've tried a couple of times, but still don't really know how to drive a stick.

I went to college in a snowy town, and had to rely on my own two feet to get me around.
