Well eventually you get fired as "Mom" and all that seems to have gone by really quickly. Kind of miss it sometimes.

It's official, Alicia will be wearing Apple Blue soon. It will look good on her. She is very, very happy. And we are very proud. heck, I'm a little teary, knowing what she's been through to get to this point. This is a tough gig to get, I hear. Maybe she will now take school more seriously. These smart kids we have, they sure figure out how to do the minimum to get by, don't they?

Wow...CONGRATS TO ALICIA!!! And yes, they're often too smart for their own good, they can think of all sorts of "logical" reasons to not do what's required. I can't wait for Jared to find a "logical" reason to not pay taxes!


You're not fired. You're only retired for a short time. Enjoy it. Once they have kids of their own, you suddenly become the most NEEDED person in the world again. Trust me on that.

I posted this on the wedding cruise thread but I'm posting it on here too so I know that the person that needs to see it sees it.

I owe a HUGE Thank you to someone. I called Friday to upgrade our cabin for the wedding cruise (from an 11b to a 6b) and was told it had already been done for us! So thank you to whoever did that for us!! We really appriciate it!!!

I'm been gone for a few days and NO ONE posted?

We just got back from our quick trip to MSU for Lisa's recruiting. They had us going from place to place all weekend. At least it did include tickets to the game and some sideline passes. That was big fun.

Lisa spent the weekend in the dorms with the team and seemed to really like the girls.

We had a chance to talk to the other recruit parents and it's nice to hear that they believe this year is pretty stressful with all the pressure for a great competition season and recruiting.

At least the whole weekend was not about Lisa. I was able to fit in the Grand Rapids marathon Sunday morning. Lisa and Sharon has MSU functions so I did this one on my own, as normal.

This was a great course and weather was perfect. Everything went well so I was able to beat my prior marathon time by 45 minutes and qualified to run Boston. 3:34:59.

I'm sore, but thrilled. When Matt asked me to run 6 years ago and I could not even do a mile....I never thought I would qualify for Boston. I don't have to run another fast marathon for a while so I will be able to run Space Coast Marathon with Sharon.

I'm off to Miami for a few days for training for the new job.

Yeah, he finally told me last night. Apperently mom knew and didn't say anything either. They both let me think it was someone from here. Dad had an even bigger surprise... They aren't just paying for the upgrade, they're paying for the cruise! I've probably got the best parents ever! (Although I have given them a reason to go to WDW for over a year and a half. So this can just be my reward. Lol)

Our group from a past member cruise have been talking and right now we are looking at a 5 night on the Dream in late June 2012.

Some of the gals and their husbands that I cruised with on the PC (and met up with in San Fran this summer) have booked the Fantasy for 6-23-12. Jared's 19th birthday.
