Il Pochi il Fiero y Blabbermouths...Magical Reunion FINALLY!!!

Remember when I posted this? Well, it wasn't getting any better and the pain kept me awake last night, so I went to the doctor today. It isn't a bite afterall......I have shingles. I didn't even know what that was...well, I thought I did, but it wasn't what I thought. So now I'm taking 800mg of antibiotic FIVE times a day, and vicodin for the pain.
I wasn't a wimp, afterall. And Jay was thrilled to hear that I'm contagious.

Poor Stace - I did not know that Shingles were contagious. I thought you had to have chicken pox before you could catch shingles....Didn't you have a bug bite on another trip - or was that mary????

Anyway - take good care of yourself. Isolate yourself in the most comfy room and Jay can bring you food and drink on a tray.

Happy Belated Birthday to Vicki!

Congrats to Sharon on running 20 miles!!! That's an accomplishment. We'll all be going to Huntsville in Dec. to cheer Bruce on for his first marathon. Girls are excited about going to the space museum there.

Mary, great news about your dr. visit!!!

Night, night all!
Ang

Gee - the First mararthon - What a goal!!! Best of luck to Bruce in the months ahead - says she who rolled over and went back to sleep this morning instead of getting up to walk.

Yikes! Did the dr. give you indication of how long it would last? Why the antiobiotics? I just thought it was something that has to run its course.

Congrats to Bruce for toeing up to the line at a marathon. The hardest part is making the commitment to put in all the training miles. Once the training miles are done, the race is easy.

He found a running group here & there's a subset of that group that is training for a marathon. So, he's up EARLY on Sat. mornings to get his miles in.

Stacey: so sorry to hear this. I hope you're feeling better soon. Take your meds like a good girl!

9/30 to 10/9 and 11/2 to 11/6. :) I'm missing Irene & Sam and Diane & Kevin this year. :sad1:

Tori and I will be at POFQ in December (18th-23rd).

So when are you going, Garry?

:bday: Gregg!

Is Tori going to be out of school Dec. 18-23rd? She's still in HS, right? We don't get out until Dec. 22 this year ... :headache:

A TOP with Laura & everyone else going to WDW for F&W.

I'm with you Irene ... I'm not so good at getting up early. I do need to change clothes & head out to boot camp now though. My hubby has been taking care of the girls while I do boot camp 2 nights a week & corepole class 2 nights a week. I think he's finally realized that if he wants me to stay fit, then he has to pitch in!

Oh Stacey -so sorry to hear that. Here's hoping it clears up fast.

That would be me on the 10 night. :)

We will be there the 9-12th....an extra this year is meeting up with two of our tablemates from the November 2005 cruise.
Is that Keith and Joe? Tell Keith I said hi! Back story for everyone. I posted some pictures from the cruise on Facebook including one of Sam, Irene, Mark and I. One of my friends from my Sears days tell me that he knows Sam and Irene. Talk about a small world!

Hey Ang! :wave2:

Gwinnett gets out 12/17 (the high schoolers will be out before noon). The metro counties aren't coordinating their schedules this year -- that's for sure!! Cobb has this week off for Fall break (Tori's jealous since many of her friends live in Cobb!) Start dates were different; breaks don't coincide. :confused3 I think we all end around the same time though! :thumbsup2

They can't say for sure how long. Some people have it for years. But...for most, it's about a 3 week process to be rid of the "rash". The pain and numbness may last longer.
Nothing really can get rid of it, and yes, it does need to run its course, but the antibiotics will help it along...a little....and if I didn't have pain killers, I'd have gone nuts by now. I had no idea how much it hurt. Not itch....just hurt.

And it's true that you had to have had chicken pox at one time to get it. What I'm hoping is that my case won't be quite so bad, because I "barely" had chicken pox....a really mild case....so if there's a connection, I'm truly hoping it will work in my favor.

When I thought this was a bug/spider bite, I thought about you and your bite on that cruise. I was feeling your misery.

They gave you the generic antiviral.... I would've given you 3 times a day - works just as well..... Sorry about the shingles....

Garry, Kevin and I will be there Oct. 23-29, then I'm staying two more nights. Your wife and daughter are going to a luncheon we paid for on the 22nd - we changed our trip dates and can't go. Vicki knows I have a one bedroom at BCV the last two nights since I offered her the living room. But she's WALKING that weekend! Everyone is on the fitness kick!

I like to walk too. At WDW. We have started dancing again, though, once a week. And it's killing my feet.

Laura, Alicia and I are going for a week Jan. 5. When Tori gets into college we will have to coordinate. They don't have to be back until later in January.

Acyclovir. He told me about the 3 times a day script, but said it was more expensive and worked the same. Now that I'm trying to choke down 5 of those puppies a day, along with the other stuff, I'm thinking I should have told him I'd gladly pay the extra money.

I'm with you....I don't even walk to shop anymore. But I did plenty of it at WDW. ;) Walking that is, not shopping.
That's great that you guys are dancing! (sorry about your feet, though)...
I wish I could talk Jay into lessons.

Hope you are feeling better Stacey! Take care of yourself and try to relax. I understand that stress aggravates shingles. My sister got it at the beginning of the year and it has come back twice. She seems to link it to when she gets overstressed. Not sure if that's true but thought I'd pass it on!

Next weekend I am going away to weekend scrapbooking event. I am printing pictures like mad! My goal is to start and finish my cruise book:rotfl2: Truth be told, I will be happy with getting it started. I took SO many pictures it's hard to pick! At this rate the book will too heavy to lift!:lmao: Anyone have any tips, etc for me??

Closing the pool today. It went from 85 degrees yesterday to like 50 today. I am ready for the cider mill and all the fall activities (except raking leaves~ hate that!) Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

The last scrapbook I finished was either for the 10-Night Christmas cruise, or the first 11-Night mom's cruise....years ago....so that tells you how far behind I am. The longer cruises are actually easier to scrapbook, because I'd pick pictures and a theme for each day. Not sure how I'd handle a shorter cruise. One of these years, I AM going to get caught up!

I'm actually praying that as of today, it feels like this might be slowly getting better......don't want to jinx myself.....but I finally slept fairly well last night, and today I don't feel quite as sick as I had been. I know it can recur, but I'm also praying that once it's gone, it NEVER comes back.

Our pool went from bathtub warm to cold almost overnight. Our nights have been just cool enough to make the water almost too chilly to get into. Next year we're draining it and re-filling it, so it will take a little longer for it to get to the point where it's really too warm to swim in. I think I was only in it a couple of times all summer!

Stacey, glad you're on the mend.

About not using the pool: don't you think it might help if you weren't gone all summer?!! :cutie: (just funnin' with you; you know I love ya!!)
