That is phenomenal!! At 3:40 I was trying to figure out how I can get Jim to stop snoring so that I can have a peaceful remainder to my night. I did contemplate getting up but that thought was fleeting at best! Sounds like Clover is going to be a good fit to the family.

Hope you enjoyed your birthday! Tell gaRRy that the weather is absolutely beautiful here. If only it could stay that way until the spring.

Still haven't winterized the pool. There is something very final about that job. Not that we would swim if the weather turns warm enough. There have been too many cold days to make that an enjoyable event!

Work has been hectic. We laid off or took down to part time 15 people at our place last week. My department got hit with a lay off but thank God I am safe....for now. Who knows what is coming down the road. We have a capacity for 70 kids at our agency and we are hovering around 43. We can't survive on that. I wish I could say that not having kids to admit is a sign that kids don't need a place like ours. The state is trying to severely reduce, if not eliminate, residential treatment facilities and place these kids in foster homes. Good luck with that train of thought! In the meantime, though, things are not looking great for our facility. I am already thinking what I can do with the experience I have and find something just in case. There isn't a lot to chose from. I guess I will have to wait and see.

Good Morning All - and happy Monday. No diving for us this weekend. Igor was enough of a menace to create high seas....too high for me. But boat was booked for a special event so nothing lost.

Our goal was NOT to run a 20 mile marathon - Congrats Sharon!
Not to go to WDW, although that would have been fun GaRRY and Vickie;
Not to winterize the pool;
Not to try to train the pets to swim in the pool;
Not to plan Anniversary Gifts, although October is coming up soon;
Not to get bitten by any bugs!

Guess which one happened?

Our goal this Saturday was to turn our SE Corner Jungle into a SE Tiki corner. We succeeded in turning it into a SW Corner Desert. Over the years, the vegetation had grown up into the power poles and it all needed a good trim and vine removal. The neighbors side had sprouted several "taller than the house" exotic trees that needed removing. The volunteer palm trees were up into the wires. And we have a hand saw. Much cutting, hacking, climbing and rope wrestling later, my lovely shaded corner now looks like an ugly desert "B" movie set. Bug bites are fun Stacey - esp. on your lip.

I understood there were football games on, but after a quick swim in the non-winterized pool, and some non-WDW entrees cooked on the grill (AKA hot dogs), we somehow fell asleep. We would have run 20 miles had that not happened. OK so, we don't run, we would have walked 20 miles, ok so that is an exaggeration, we thought of walking 6 miles but tackled the jungle instead.

Sunday Sam was back to work and I was trying to figure out some temproary landscaping before the corner will be turned into a Tiki Garden. After more potting and hauling, and watering and transplanting, I fell asleep again. I here there were pro games on the radio, the one right by the computer, with the photos that I did NOT get copied on a disc for Mark.

At least the corner does not look like a desert - it now looks like a nursery - sigh!

Time for lunch and to contemplate training cats!

Remember when I posted this? Well, it wasn't getting any better and the pain kept me awake last night, so I went to the doctor today. It isn't a bite afterall......I have shingles. I didn't even know what that was...well, I thought I did, but it wasn't what I thought. So now I'm taking 800mg of antibiotic FIVE times a day, and vicodin for the pain.
I wasn't a wimp, afterall. And Jay was thrilled to hear that I'm contagious.

Congrats to Bruce for toeing up to the line at a marathon. The hardest part is making the commitment to put in all the training miles. Once the training miles are done, the race is easy.
