Time flies, doesn't it? Seems like yesterday Lauren was just an itty bitty little girl.


Jared has been apprenticing with a glass artist, much like Chihuly. They only work here in the winter, then he moves his operation back east in the summers. Jay had done some work for the artist, and Jared was in the shop with Jay a couple of times. The man took a liking to Jared and asked him if he wanted to learn how to do glass blowing. That was two years ago now. Normally it costs thousands and thousands of dollars to learn the art, but Jared's been able to learn for free. It's the most awesome opportunity for him.
The sad part is that all of the equipment, the ovens and cooling equipment, cost several hundred thousand.....I don't think Jared will be getting his own.

John is working in Lousianna for two weeks- long hours as part the Emergency Command Center dealing with the oil rig explosion and environmental impact. He might end up on 14 day rotations if he can be spared from his local responsibilities. State mandated testing at the schools this week - so, it's a light week without extra-curricular activities. whew!

I've said my piece, others are picking up on the fact that facts *are* being omitted there to make DCL out as this big 'bad guy'.

Wow, he's part of the cleanup? At least it isn't as bad as they feared it could have been if the well itself kept spewing.

He probably would really, really love to. And cost wise, it probably would be about the same as college is these days. But....he still has it in his head that he wants to be a Marine first, like his dad. Ask me how much I like that idea!

They can't see ones on Facebook Mods can't, but not sure about higher up the food chain. It's pretty clear now there's an agenda there and others are picking up on the fact it's a business decision, not some 'DCL is out to get us' thing as he'd like everyone to think it is.

As much as I am a fan of both RCCL and Voyager - the Oasis and the Magic are not a similar subsitution, especially the upper tier suites on the Oasis (I would love to get a peek at the 2 story suites!!!) In terms of age, tonnage, passenger load, amenities, etc RCCL's Voyager or Vision class would be a closer match.

I'm still trying to figure out what he wants DCL to do, beyond the unrealistic reinstating the 10 day cruise - I thought the problem was with his DVC points and airfare.

We watched AI last season when Jordan and Paul's friend was on.
I hadn't ever watched DWTS until this year, to fill time between some of our favorite shows, and now I'm kind of hooked. Watching Kate Gosselin was painful, I didn't think anyone was a worse dancer than me, til she came along. Pamela Anderson is doing a good job, but she still nauseates me with her sex-symbol act.

I wanted so badly to tell him that there's no comparison between the suites on the brand new Oasis. The guy is delusional and full of lies.

I don't believe for ONE SECOND that he only paid $17k for the Walt for 10 nights on a "special" cruise. I had to just back away.

Yes, he did say that about Oasis, and he rubs shoulders with the 'Fortune 50' don't forget that zinger. Him and Baron Munchhausen would get along famously.

My thinking is one, he's leaving out what Disney offered him in compensation already, either by his not listening to them over his own ranting, or purposely omitting, I dunno. And two, I think what he wants is the Walt cabin for both cruises at the rate he supposedly had, and some kind of other compensation on top of that. Not gonna happen.
