Il Pochi il Fiero y Blabbermouths...Magical Reunion FINALLY!!!

Our travel agent just e-mailed a quote for the Dream July 2011 - 5 day. It won't be official until tomorrow - but, she used her Platinum status to give us an idea of what it would be. I appreciate her work, now we can have a chance to discuss with John's parents today without feeling rushed.

I must be getting jaded, or was totally shell-shocked by the Alaska prices, because I didn't feel these were too outrageous. Around $3600 interior, $5700 verandah 4A 2K. These would be on deck 6.

Actually, for four adults and two kids, the $5700 for a verandah isn't all that bad compared to our room on NCL. Our room is comparable to, although larger than, DCL's Cat 4...and for the 3 of us it's a total (insurance, taxes and fees) of $4233.....so that's actually really good.
But then, DCL has less port stops than NCL does......and flights are more to go in to Vancouver than Seattle......:confused3 So I don't regret our decision. I'll have all the more money for the BIG Disney cruise....the WEDDING!:woohoo:

oops - I should go back and edit that - it should be 2A and 2K. John's dad gave the ok to book for the extended family We're moving on up...A balcony this time! :cool1: July 19, 2011!!!

I'm more shocked at the kids ages than the prices - Maggie will be 14 and Mike will be 16 almost 17... :scared1:

That's still not much more considering it's Disney.
And NO KIDDING:scared1::scared1::scared1: Where did the time go????? Er...I guess, where WILL it have gone by then...;);)

Good Morning All - I hope you had a great weekend.

Not that it was windy here - but the pool had whitecaps on it......

wow...just wow. I had three bags of jeans and shorts in the guest house. All size 12 & 14, a couple of 10's. I drug them all up to the house and have spent the better portion of the day trying things on. Some are already too big and went into a bag for the next yard sale. Most of the 14's fit, a few of the 12's. So that's good. But man....what a ton of clothes! That's just crazy!

i'm on a kick lately to get rid of all the old junk in the house. I will keep jay though. :rotfl:

i have two whole closets full of formal dresses. The consignment store here mostly sells vintage, and the ones in town sell "designer"...so i really don't know what to do with the formal dresses. Any ideas??
i don't think i really want to list them on ebay...i just don't think it would even be worth the listing fees and shipping costs. :confused3

cruise clothes.....

I just checked out the prices for May 29, 2011. The prices are totally different than what I saw a few weeks ago. They are way more reasonable. I have a dummy booking right now & I'm thinking I need to change it. For 2A and 2C cat 9A, no insurance, no air, no transfers, it came out to be $3124.

Not much going on here - John's parents will visit for Thanksgiving. If he wants to come home, he can. But, if he get's a better offer, he's welcome to travel while he gets the chance!

Hmm... we should have sent Scoopie with Ray... (though the heaters might have melted him...) He left this morning to pick up equipment in Tuscaloosa from last weekend's game, to get it to Rutgers for Thursday night, Birmingham AL for Saturday... Then its off to Boston for the following weekend's game, Thanksgiving with his mom and brother, then to Maryland for their game, and possibly to UCONN for their game on Dec 5. So... I'll see him in about a month. Calgon, take me away!!!! I'm NOT a good single-parent!!!!!

I'm spending Thanksgiving with some friends who live at the beach who are having a ton of people over... should be fun. (If I don't lose my mind by then!!)

Too bad the Texans don't need his services, I was given two tickets to the Monday night game before Thanksgiving with the Titans - you could meet him him here. John won't mind if you come with me, he's not a sports fan.

I am dying laughing at all of the STUPID questions on the main boards.
:sad2::sad2::sad2:
Will there be laundry rooms on the Dream? No...ever since my picture of the undies hanging on the verandah floated around, DCL decided that was a much better way to go.

What to do if it rains?? Well, you can either stand out there and get wet, or you can go inside and read the *#*#@ Navigator and find something else to do.

Will Palo cater a dinner while I'm in the Walt for me and my 50 best friends? Suuurrre.....why the devil not?? Oh wait, let's see....maybe because they'll be busy feeding all the people who are PAYING to go eat there???:headache:

Mom's middle initial is missing on documents.....OH MY GOODNESS....call the FBI!!! :sad2::sad2:

I've been on the Boards for far too long. All the stupid questions I asked 9 years ago are starting to REALLY annoy me.
:rolleyes1

Resist the urge to comment and all will be well! Yeah, I've been laughing at the posts for awhile. No one knows for sure - the ship is still being built!! The drawings are only artist's renditions. It even says in small print it may be different!!! I can't wait for the complaints after the first cruise that everything is different from the photos.

They're even debating over the dimensions of the new tube slide and the tubes...

Note to Stacey - STAY OFF THE MAIN BOARDS.

Note to self - resist temptation to go to the Main Board and post a note - Please see Frequently Asked Questions thread before you post a question.
Second note to self - resist temptation to explain that Disney has changed their insurance policy and please go check specifics.
Third note to self - Please STOP comparing the Dream with the Magic - that was 10 years ago and hey, I think they learned from this.
Forth note to self - Do not, I repeat do NOT go on Main Boards and post note to keep negative threads to yourself. Or is it just me - the number of "I am disappointed" comments keep growing. I can handle, the I was surprised. I can handle the wishful nostalgic comments, I can even handle the rants in the midst of threads.
Fifth note to self - notes to self are not supposed to be posted (oops).

On the other hand, there are lots of nice comments - like - be happy for the cruiser who got the discount - or - the cabind does not matter, we are on the cruise....etc...etc.

Thanks Stacey - see what you started.

It's a train wreck, I shouldn't have looked

"I just got my room assignment, will I be disappointed?"

"will DCL let the 2 that started it all fall by the waste side to just disappear with the newer and "better" ships coming out" that wasn't a title - it was question in a thread...

Even less here over Thanksgiving for Scoopie - so come on folks -
WHERE'S SCOOPIE GOING....?

choo choo - if we get a free dinner at Palo can we make it a free brunch instead?

Let's see - dinner at Polo - 7 nights to work this out.
Brunch at Palo - depending on the cruise - 1 to 2 days to work this out.

Um, No.

I'm sure some of those topics are the main reason behind the rise in disappointed trip reports. The expectations are built up so high. I don't care - just get me on ship!!! Some cruises are better than others, but over all it's still fun being with family and/or friends!

That's 100% true. When people post about how they were "Pixie Dusted" it really makes it hard for everyone else. That's the thread I almost got in trouble on. I don't care what anyone says, it's pretty hard to explain to your kids why someone else gets to do something that they don't...or better to my point...something that is supposed to be against the rules!
