We had dinner there for the first time on our last visit and loved it. We had our meal in the lounge, which I think was a good choice because the dining room was pretty dead that night so the lounge had a little more atmosphere. I had the manicotti and my partner had one of the risotto dishes. We both really enjoyed our meals. Everything was fresh and incredibly well prepared. We had just come from drinks and an appetizer at Bluezoo so we didn't have room for dessert, but I'd definitely return based on the entrées alone. We've been to all the Italian restaurants in Disney World save Via Napoli, and I think Il Mulino is easily the best. The only one that even comes close is Portobello.

Il Mulino is the best Italian at WDW and is our go to Restaurant for a romantic dinner. Atmosphere is adult, service is very good, and I've enjoyed the dishes I have had here.

Well said.

Would I be correct in assuming it is also a decent place to bring well behaved kids? I believe it is also a place which is frequently available on restaurants.com.

Was there yesterday evening. DH and I shared a Carpaccio de Carne and a small Bosco Pizza. The carpaccio is served on a bed of dressed arugula, with the carpaccio being drizzled with a lovely cream sauce. The Bosco pizza was thin crust with nice crispy charred spots, truly Italian, sausage, mushrooms, cheese and a touch of truffle oil. Delicious!

There are two pasta dishes that are made with in-house fresh pasta, one is the manicotti and I can't remember the other but your server can let you know.

Salads have always been fresh for us. Can't give you any input regarding the soups.

Behaved children are always welcome! Unfortunately Il Mulino also seats the rowdy children as well. :rolleyes1 Il Mulino does host a lot of convention people but families are always welcome, especially earllier in the evening.

The last time we dined here, we were seated next to a table with 3 young girls dressed to the nines in gorgeous dresses. I never heard a peep out of them through the entire meal. However, my experience has been that the customers are more adult only than families but we do dine after 7pm.

FYI, in case you would like an adult only meal, you can get 2 hours of complimentary time at Camp Dolphin (the resorts' children's club). If you have two adults purchasing entrees, you can have 2 children receive the complimentary 2 hours.

I do not believe they are still on restaurants.com. I do not know this for sure but I remember there being more than one post here on the dis regarding this. Maybe they are back on there now.

We bought our $25 certificate from restaurant.com about 6 months ago.
The website was just updated with certificates per an e-mail I got.

Thank you for the input.

We will most likely stay at the Dolphin and cancel POFQ.
Our kids are 20 & 17 - not a problem at dinner tables.
We have a 7 pm dinner, since our lunch will be 1pm at Coral Reef.
Breakfast is in our room - only way we all can get ready and out to the Parks.

I think you will like it.
And I can vouch for the Veal and the Chicken Parm...

I checked the restaurant dot com site today and there are still no Swan or Dolphin restaurants listed. Was hoping to try Il Mulino for our wedding anniversary. Was a toss up between FF (have eaten there before) and this. I think we may still try Il Mulino, even without a certificate.

How is it ?
. . . close to the New York city version

Food taste fresh ?
. . . yep

Pizza good ?
. . . above average
. . . not great
. . . try something else

Chicken Parm ?
. . . pretty darn good

Soups?
. . . recommended
. . . we like the Minestrone

Salads ?
. . . super
. . . try the Insalata Caprese

NOTE: We patronize ONLY five eateries at WDW, and Il Mulino
is on the list.

Since the inception of the Dining Plan I spend as muchof my time dining where it is not accepted as I can. Il Mulino was a wonderful dining experience and we will be doing it again in July.
