Hello: To start with, my cousin owns a Marriott timeshare and he paid(I think) $75 to join II. This gave him access to their "special" vacations. Does anyone know it that is available to DVC members and if so, what is the process you have to go thorugh. Thanks

We already have access to II as part of DVC membership. I believe the $75 he paid is to allow him to trade on II. Unless things have changed since I worked with someone who owned at Marriott.

The II trades Disney works with are listed in your sales information and also on the DVC website. When you want to trade, you call MS and have them start searching for what you want.

As far as I know, II "special" vacations, and other II specials are NOT available to DVC members....trades, yes; but other features, no. :cool1:

That is correct, and that is because DVC is the member of II, and not the individual. I believe DVC only trades directly with those listed in our World passport collection.

I think you are talking about II getaways.

you need to belong to II to get those. Disney is a corporate membership not individual.

go find a cheap II timeshares buy it and then get in II. Once you are in II it does not matter what timeshare you own.

their getaways are for every one.

there is a public site
www.condodirect.com
but you can get the same villa plus some not listed like the Marriott and a few others much cheaper through II getaways.

also if your friend is a member of II - he should be able to put up II getaway on his computer and let you make a reservation. I have done it several times here. II allows 12 getaways per year to its members.

rci has the last call vacations that are a great value too. again just get a cheap timeshares to join this. $99 a week in a studio. someone once say you could join RCI without owning a timeshares. I don't know how they did this. Anyway for more information go ask on

ww.tug2.net

oh I forgot.
www.skyauction.com
rci public bid site.

you can bid on some great timeshare in nice location. If you can do last minute trip. I have gotten the best deals 10 days or less before arrival time.

you need to remember to add the $210 fee ($195 + $15) to what you are bidding.

also I wait until the last few minutes before I bid. I learned the hard way there are some people who wait until someone else bids before they do it.... :p :rolleyes1

to avoid this register now. then wait until the last 5 minutes to bid - then don't release it until 1 minute before it closes. Only works when no one else has bid on it.

Now if someone has already bid this won't work. lots of time these people have already use the auto bid and it will just go higher. You won't have to time to rebid.
