I need something to get me really serious so I thought if anyone would like to join me, that would further inspire me.

We have some challenges out there, but I would like other low carbers this time. I think it helps keep me accountable, maybe it will for someone else, too.

I have a lot going on in May..........a ladies retreat from the 20th-22nd, a mini- vacation (Baltimore, Annapolis, homeschool convention in Harrisburg, Pa.) next week, the 4th-9th, and ofcourse, Memorial day weekend. I would love someone to go through this month with.

Anyone interested??? This means no cheats for the month of May (if you do, I won't arrest you, if you won't arrest me :) )

I am doing ATkins and plan to stay on induction for maybe 5 weeks. I'm on my 2ND day of induction and am very motivation to lose weight before vacation. I'm going to Disney/Universal this June and want to get as much weight off as I can. I'm very new to this board and am unsure on how the board works, but I be right here doing induction with you.

Dee

Did you sign up on the "official" member roster yet?? I believe it is near the top of the page. You post there first so that Katholyn or KathyTx can get you on the roster.

Then, if you want, you can add the WISH clipart to your siggie. Instructions for that are also near the top of the board.

What time in June are you going on vacation, Dee? Do you have a lot of weight to lose?? I have about 130 pounds to go. A LOT!! But I try not to think of it that way.........just mini goals, right??

I also post to the "journal" part of this board. It helps me keep track. I also post on fitday.com. That helps me know EXACTLY what I am eating. Great resource.

Good to see ya! :sunny:

The scale has not budged for me in over a month! I'd planned on going back to induction level carbs the first of May anyway for at least two weeks - but I think I can go the whole month if you can.

Count me in!

Hey Pam, Can I join you for the first 2 weeks and see where I am then to see if I need to continue on induction for the rest of the month? I have been doing much better the last 2 weeks after really blowing it for Easter and the week after but I have still been eating alot of nuts and low carb ice cream which I think might be stalling me so I think doing true induction might be just what I need. Is sugar free jello allowed during induction? How about the Atkins shakes can I have an ocassional 1 of those during induction? Sometimes when I'm on the run they become lunch or breakfast.

Good luck to your commitment. We were just talking today about this. I don't have much more to go for me, but I am looking to the 2-week commitment. I need to get back in control of me and think this will certainly help before I get too far gone. I will "walk" with you the first 2 weeks.

We will be at WDW that 3rd week of May and I absolutely know that induction will be out for me that week. I plan to continue with better choices for the most part that week as I had been doing before my "fall."

I now take a deep breath in and click on the submit reply button.
Onward my friend!

I'd love to join everyone. I'm new to Atkins, so I'll be doing induction for awhile. I have a long way to go and would enjoy some company on this trip to a thinner me.

I've set my fist goal at 30 pounds and have lost 8 so far. I use fitday to log what I eat. I'm glad I saw it on the board. Using fitday is alot easier than trusting myself to write everything down.

Should I take measurements? I've never done that before.

Candy

I've restarted induction. I'll keep it up as long as I can.

hey i'll join you i have a crazy may to and a little minivacation to hershey park in Pa at the end of the month
so back to induction we go....

good luck everyone

now to go hard boil some eggs:rolleyes:

I read this "challenge" last night and thought about it for awhile. Well, this morning is weigh in and I am the same again! That's two weeks in a row! I can feel I'm getting a bit "lazy" with the Atkins, so YES - I WILL DO INDUCTION FOR THE MONTH OF MAY!

And as a further challenge to myself, I will walk two miles three times a week for the month of May, also!

I've lost the twenty, but I have at least forty more to go, so I need that jumpstart, too. Thanks Mom of S,B, & B!

We're going to Disney June 13 and I need to do something in a desperate way. Three months ago when we decided to go it was like okay, I have 3 months to lose something, well guess what, it is now only 6 weeks away and I have not lost (nor have been trying). I have been in a slight funk lately with minor marriage problems and now have just wrecked my car Wednesday morning and am waiting for the adjustor to total it out. UUGgg. Anyways, I'll go grocery shopping later today and buy all the legal goodies. Thanks for suggesting this, it must be a sign! :)

I should do this, my son's wedding is only two months away and I would love to be a few inches smaller by July 11

I did the same thing when I went on vacation. I started Atkins a mere 4 weeks before going to Hawaii for 2 weeks. I lost 7 pounds on induction, gained 3.5 pounds on vacatation (mai-tai's, lots of fresh fruit and garlic mashed potatos were my downfall) and lost 4.5 pounds since coming back in early April. I'm peeing pink again, so everything is right in the Atkins world.

I would join everyone, but I didn't like induction much :headache: . Good luck everyone while I putz along at Ongoing Weight Loss!

Cheryl:

Sugar-free jello is fine, but the shakes are not recommended for strict induction since the sugar alcohols can stall some people.

Hi Pam,

I have to lose about 60 LBS, at last weigh in I was 203. I've been watching carbs for 3 weeks, and lost 13LBS. I started induction Thursday to give my body a jumo start. I'm going on vacation the 3rd week of June. We are going to Disney and Universal. I want to fit on the rides and to look nice in the pitures. So I am determind to give induction a good try. I've been on Atkins before, lost allot of weight before, and then got pregnant. Well, my little one is now 17 months old now. And I'm as heavy now as when I was 9 months pregant.

Since I'm so new to this Board, Maybe you can tell me. I signed on to take the wish challege, by replying to the thread. Is that what I need to do to join.

Also, I got to tell you that my Saturday, was a crazy day. With trips to Dunkin Dougnuts and to McDonalds. I DID NOT CHEAT!!!
Even when I got chocolate frosting on mt finger, I washed it off.

Oh, the first time I did Atkins, I did it with 2 friends. One had to lose about 130LBs. Both of my friends hit their goal weight and kept the weight off for a year. So we can do it too.

And to all of you who are going to WDW this summer.........I AM SO JEALOUS!! Even though I COULD NOT make it in that heat (October is hot to me  :) ), I wish I were going. We hope to surprise the kids and go Dec./2005. We shall see.

Cheryl, Hi buddie.............. nice to see ya!

deelam..........great job on not cheating.

Katholyn.........wow! that wedding will be here before you know it. Will the wedding be near you or do you have to travel??

HeatherPage.........I'm sorry things aren't going well lately. That can really mess you up. :wizard: There's some PD for you. Hope all works out. Sounds like you could use a nice vacation.

Kaylajr...............HERSHEY PARK......... That is practically in the backyard of my hometown. I'm going home on Tuesday.........I love the south/central part of Penn. Have fun.........and don't forget Hershey Choc. World next door! Oh, wait, maybe not, not very induction friendly. Oh, well.

My last name is Snavely. Do you know what the "S" stands for in "Milton S. Hershey"?? You got it! But our relations are too distant to be in the will. Too Bad. :teeth: His mother's name was Fanny Snavely. With the Pa. Dutch people, it is very common to give your son your maiden name for a middle name. My husbands family did that.

And if you can only stay with us for half the month, or whatever, that is OK. We'll take the encouragement as long as we get it.

Good going everyone. Onwards and downwards. :teeth: ::yes::

Me too!!

I got off the WISH wagon when we moved (such is life as a military family!), and went on a few vacations, and what I was doing wasn't really working anyway. I saw a celebrity diets show on VH1 last week that made me really think about starting Atkins. So I started induction 4 days ago...would love to join in for the rest of the month of May with everyone.

I will see my hubby for the first time in 2 1/2 months in mid-June, and at that point we are moving to sunny California, so I would LOVE to look good in a swimsuit by then!

So, if it's not too late, I'd love to get on the May Induction Train! :flower3:

I love Hersey Park at Christmas. You can just smell the chocolate in the air. We used to go every year at Chrismas time. I would like to go this year.
I live in Southern New Jersey, right near Philadelphia. Maybe about 2 hours away.
I'll check in with everyone on Monday. Time to watch the Sopranno's. I'll be watching with my sugar free jello snack.

Dee
