Ignore List Option

Adam!! LOL! For me the ignore feature is a wonderful thing and I am glad it's there! There's a lot to be said for "out of sight, out of mind"! I just don't want some things in my mind!

I find the Ignore feature to be a wonderful thing, as there are some posters who repeat the same points, opinions,etc over and over, and turn every post into something religious or political, and after a while, it gets boring, so it's easier not to even have to see the drivel and just ignore it.

In general, I come to the DIS for a pleasant way to pass time. People who attempt to make it unpleasant get ignored.

That's how I feel. Every once in awhile, when I've had enough, I put someone on my ignore list.

I personally have only used it once (to see how it worked so I picked a good friend and ignored them for a while), but I honestly have never used it any other way. There are some people I really should have ignored from time to time as they have hurt me or hurt my friends to save myself from getting so mad at them, but now I've learned more not to take it personally and that there are just some people who aren't nice or won't be able to get along with me. That's fine and I can selectively "ignore" what they say. For those who can't ignore people like that I think it is a wonderful feature and I am glad it is there.

I use it... I like it ALOT!! Although sometimes I still peek to see hwat the annoying person has said... I know I torture myself!!

I never use it. There was a time when certain posters irritated me until I decided life was too short to let anyone I didn't know have that kind of power. I just skip over their posts now.

Sunny, I'm PROUD to report that I'm on "at least" THREE IGNORE lists . Of course, I'm FLATTERED that CBers would go to such efforts to IGNORE my posts ........

I've got a couple people on my ignore list (Eros is NOT one of them.) On a few occasions their posts did pop up. I would get out of the thread, check who I have on "Ignore". Yup, they're on it. Then when I go back into the thread their posts usually don't show up.
