A little present for my Ignorami friends:

Lady Liberty Bahookie!

Perfect!!! That is just great. :)

Love it, PK!!!

TS Hermine is supposed to give us several inches of rain tomorrow. I'm supposed to take the kids to the Not Back to School skating party tomorrow. I'm going to be soaked tomorrow.

Wickey, you might want to take a boat to work with you.

Yep -- got my rain boots, umbrella and stand-by motorboat on the ready.

Hermaine is too beautiful of a name to be a TS. Sounds more like she should be handing out perfume samples at Macys.

Or, Hermione from Harry Potter (another obsession in the Wick's family).

Is there anything wrong with eating leftover pizza and half a bag of twix for breakfast?

Absolutely NOT! Sounds pretty good to me! :)

It is currently raining very hard here at work. I'm glad I brought my lunch so I won't have to use my rain boots.

Before I could post this, they had us shelter in the conference room. We had a tornado warning -- one spotted somewhere near here -- but we are fine. I think they canceled classes at the university, but they forgot to send the staff home! We are getting the rain bands from Hermine -- Kerrie are you okay?

Hope all is well with Wickey and Kerrie. Tornado warnings are something we don't deal with in NJ. I think I'd about die if someone said we had a tornado warning. :scared1:

Yeah -- we usually don't get them either. I asked if I could cower under my desk, but they wouldn't let me. :)

don't forget a couple of swigs of RUM to wash it all down!

start your day the pirate way!!!

I second that as GP's tag -- and reserve the right to use it if I ever need a swig of rum before lunch.

The first one I went through, while living in Missouri, freaked me out. Hurricanes much easier to deal with; they don't just pop out of nowhere like those tornadoes do.

I hope my Texas friends keep their bahookies safe.

You do what you have to do. That's where I was on 9/11. Didn't know what I was hearing for sure, but knew whatever it was it wasn't good, so I burrowed under my desk (along with a co-worker). Found out a few minutes later it was the sound of the first tower coming down. :sad1: I've always said I can only imagine that's what a tornado sounds like. Hope I never hear that sound again.

PKsMom -- I can not imagine what you went through. I 'm so sorry.

Thanks Wick. I was fortunate and definitely had a guardian angel that day. My co-worker and I have been through the trenches (or under the desk ;)) and we will be lifelong friends. We even joke about it. She had the close up view of my bahookie as I burrowed under the desk. :rotfl2: Now THAT is a JI-NOR-MOUS BAHOOKIE! If you don't believe me, you can ask her. :rotfl2:

Hermine hasn't been too bad here. The only tornado I know about was a county over. I saw one tree down yesterday on our way home from skating that was blocking the road. Lots and lots of rain. But, my dedicated dog stayed out in it all that she could to protect us from squirrels that aren't there. She let a man walk into our backyard on Monday without a peep, but dang it, those squirrels aren't going to get away with anything.

DH has suffered from Hermine. Austin has had LOTS of rain, wind, and flooding. On his way to work this morning in the dark, he hit a branch with his jeep. It was hanging low and there was no way he could see it. If it hadn't been for his roll cage, it would have been in the front seat with him. He did call 911 to let them know about it because if a large truck goes through in the dark, it will go through their windshield. As for DH's jeep, as of right now, broken windshield, bent windshield frame, and looks like the soft top needs to be replaced. He said you can see on the roll cage where it hit.

My phone rang at 6:14 this morning. I was scared he'd been in a collision. I'm happy it wasn't worse. :goodvibes

Well, at least you are able to laugh about that part of it. :) My bahookie might have a bit of trouble fitting under a desk too. That, plus I'm not exactly flexible . . .

Wow, I'm glad your DH is okay. Sorry about his Jeep.

It was a mess out there. But, it had pretty much quit raining hard by the time I went home. It rained again during the night some as well. We may get more today, but not like yesterday.

Still raining here. I just read that the river that runs through town either has or will today hit flood stage.
