I'm sure Mistress Pakey would enjoy this thread even thought they don't have eyes.

I saw that. When I saw the thread title of Little Box of Heaven I opened it thinking it would be a turquoise box from Tiffany's. :rotfl2: I guess my thinking was a little off this morning.

Yes, the CB was a lot of fun early yesterday before the "rain on the Grumpy Pirate's parade" people showed up and got everything locked down again.

Dancing Mom, what do you want to know about naked dogs? Have I ever mentioned their terrible blackheads. :rotfl2:

Morning everyone! Thanks for the donut DanceMom. You know the way to bring me out of hiding. ;)

I'm offended (yeah, I know, different thread) that I was not on the offensive threads that were locked. I can be offensive. Why didn't anyone call me? You guys are always going off and having a good time without me. :sad2:

...because.
we.
are.
IGNORING.
you....

I missed the RSVP one, too. But I did manage to get in on the other one a few pages before it was locked. Around the time GP cancelled the parade.

...no invite for ME either....whatever....no biggie....I'm good at ignoring THAT thread too....life goes on.....vent over....

blackheads? no, you haven't. poor cute lil nekkid pooches... you're not sitting there popping pimples are you?

Seriously though, do you think they'd be okay in a home with a 2-3 yr old and two elem kiddos? She had a wheaten terrier and had to return it to the breeder because with its activity level it kept jumping to nip at the toddler's face. It wasn't deliberate, just an unexpected breed trait, but it ended in stitches for the youngest. Now she's kind of gunshy and looking for a more laidback sort of dog. :confused3

Yes, we do have to take care of blackheads. Paris Hairless gets them on her feet and bottom part of her legs. Andy gets his more on his shoulders. It's a breed trait. So are dry eyes; Andy has an opthamologist he sees regularly for his. They also have to have lotion and sunscreen to keep their skin moist and protected. And they have teeth issues; most hairless Cresteds do anyway. I think the powderpuffs are not as bad.

For a small breed, Cresteds are pretty laid back (mine have the activity level of a stuffed animal). However, I did not have mine as puppies. Andy was 18 mos and Paris was a little over 2 yrs when both were adopted. Andy cannot be around small children. He has serious fear aggression issues from being mistreated before being adopted by me. Paris loves everyone and is very gentle. From all of the research I did before decided to adopt Cresteds, they are well behaved affectionate dogs who generally attach to one person more than a "family".

After dealing with a collie puppy's activity level, that of a stuffed animal sounds positively dreamy to me. ;)

DC has allergy issues and is one of those people who can't stand a thing out of place. Just going out to lunch and seeing the inevitable collie/cat hair on my wool jacket has her searching for a lint brush. :lmao: How she survives some days with three small children is beyond me but she's incredibly organized and definitely an alfa dog type.

They really want a dog in the family again and she's been researching crested breeders with possible future litters. One woman told her there was no way she'd place any of her dogs in a home with children - DC said she made it sound like it was condemning them to certain death or hideous torture. DD20 & I got a kick out of that b/c I've never seen a more structured home or better behaved, though very indulged, kids.

That is funny about not placing dogs in a home with children. How would children ever learn to deal with animals? Oh well, there are extremists everywhere. Another thing I forgot to mention about Cresteds is that they do not handle being alone very well. They do much better in a home where someone is there with them all day. Both of my dogs have to be touching a human at all times. It's annoying. Even when I take a bubble bath, Andy sits right on the edge of the tub crying for me the entire time. Paris Hairless is the same with my husband. They really love their people.

...sounds like my furbaby...Sammies are pack dogs and never like to be alone...

It's hard to ignore the little red box. It could be something evil. You never know with kimmar.
