can you tell me if all the negativity that is seen in the media regarding WDW has affected the atmosphere of the parks? I always enjoy the magical, lively feeling at WDW, but I'm afraid with all the cutbacks in hours, etc. there may be a black cloud hanging over the parks. How was it?

In a word: NO The only time we noticed any cutbacks was before we went! once we got there, it was all pure magical disney at it's best. we just returned sunday night and didn't have any less magical trip than any of our others.

That is exactly what I was hoping to hear! :D

Me neither. We went three years ago and again in Feb. and with regards to atmosphere and attitude, nothing was different. In fact, the first time, we stayed off property and in Feb. stayed at CBR. Because of this, I think it could have been a bit better. I couldn't find any effects from cutbacks.

Don't worry, the negativity is MUCH MUCH WORSE here on these boards than it ever is at Disney. In fact, as others have said, Disney is as magical as EVER!!!

We didn't notice anyone being real negative except a CM working Alien Encounter. The only other thing that really stuck out to me were the bus drivers. Every other time I've visited I've encountered at least one really nice driver that would tell us stories and give us little tid bits of info or at least be nice. Most of our drivers were grumps and not that pleasant.

But then I also saw a lot of other CM's that were as wonderful as usual and still had plenty of Disney Magic in their hearts!

I was in WDW when the "war" started March 19th, and was there for 2 weeks and didn't really notice any difference!

The first thing in the morning I was able to get onto the "big" rides!! or If there was a long wait I could get a fast pass for one and do stand by on the other ride! did this for TOT+RNRC, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder railroad, Was able to walk on to Journey into imagination, test Track (singles), Kali river rapids within a hour of AK opening {rodetwice}fast passed space mountain and went and watched the parade at 3 and went back for my FP time!

there were crowds and just depended on what day I was in the parks!!

It's great to hear that WDW itself hasn't become jaded. And as for those grumpy bus drivers, I figure they must all be the retirees who used to drive my school buses - they were all grumps too.;)
