I was surfing the internet and found a website that offers very good rates for the hard rock and royal pacific. While I can not promise the validity of the web site it bares looking into. for those of you looking for the best deals. The web site is www.travelhero.com I hope this helps someone please let me know how it goes.

I tried to find the prices and couldn't even find the area where they listed the Universal hotels. I tried Orlando and even the Universal Studios Florida area. Nothing came up. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I couldn't find anything. Was just curious to see how much they were charging for the Royal Pacific Resort. We have ours booked already but wanted to see if it was any cheaper. Maybe I'll try another day. Thanks

when you get to the opening screen for www.travelhero.com. Look over to the right. You will see orlando in a group listing of different cities to find hotel rooms. Click Orlando
Then you will have to look through the list of 220 hotels in the orlando area(listed alphabetically). It does not specify the areas in orlando so you just have to muttle through till you find loews royal pacific and hard rock and Portifino. But when you do it will be well worth it. at least I think so. I have not used this particular web site but I have used many like it.

And to add:

The are listed as: Hard Rock Hotel
Portifino
and this one is Listed differently
Loews Royal Pacific
can't explain it. You can find them alphabetically.

I hope this helps anyone navigating www.travelhero.com

You can also "search" for your particular hotel...just type in the name. I checked the prices for RPR/HRH during our timeframe (November/December) and they were more expensive than booking a Fan Club, AP or Entertainment rate. Maybe some other dates will come up cheaper.

I should of booked when I saw them on www.travelhero.com I know when i looked the other day they had royal pacific for 119 but when i went back (today) they were sold out for my dates.
oh well easy come easy go.

Heck, they are $50 cheaper than the best offer Universal gives me for the same dates!
How reputable are they though?

that sounds like a big savings to me too. But I have never used them before. My ressies for may were already booked and I am not about to change them. But i am seriously considering them for my november trip.

I like to look at travel sites and this is just one of many that I found. I just thought someone else might like to know about it too. It is to your own judgement whether to use it or not .

Well, let me tell you what happened:

I called HRH and asked for the rate I saw online, which would save me over $100. They said they had nothing available and encouraged me to get that site's rate.

So I went back, typed in all the info, was absolutely shocked that I found the HRH for under $180 right on Christmas but happy that I lucked out on something that not even Hotwire had.

I processed my request, even typed in my credit card number and righht at the end, the site tells me the hotel did not offer the rate for that season. What a tease!

Unlike Hotwire, however, it said the hotel would charge one night and the rest was due one week before arrival. So you could cancel up to that time. It seems that their policies are very different from Hotwire's, and they are more like an online travel agent.

The best rate I could get from Loews for 12-27-03 for 2 nights was $197 AAA for RPR standard garden view.

I tried travelhero and was quoted 179.10 for my dates for HRH standard garden view. I, too, put in all the info and received a message about no availability (just like previous post by TreeOfLife).

I decided to check rates at RPR even though the first page indicated a rate of $209. I was quoted 143.10 (before taxes) for RPR standard garden view. I put in my information, but this time I received a confirmation. I am being charged one night on credit card now as a deposit required by the hotel (which is in keeping with direct bookings for RPR). The cancellation is by 4:00 p.m. 5 days prior to arrival. I see no mention of fees, etc by travelhero.

I will follow up with rpr tomorrow to be sure of the reservation and then cancel my $197 AAA reservation.

I have been trying to get Universal's price quote of $229.00 garden view down. Tried AAA, Entertainment, Fan code, Loew's, but nothing worked. Found success at travelhero.com got gardenview 2 queen for $159 night. I'm really happy although others have lower for the same time in June, I am only staying one night and I think that was the problem.
FOL IOA here we come! June 26-27
Connears

I am glad for those of you that found a little luck through travelhero. And I am sorry for those it hasn't helped. but i am looking forward to reading more of your posts. I just want to say good luck to all. I hope you get the deals you are looking for.

Awesome tip, MickeyMagic!

I checked out the availability again for my dates and found the Royal for $143.10 starting on Christmas day! My AAA discount at the HRH for the same dates gave me the lowest rates available, $250/day!

I am thrilled. For the price of one night at the HRH, we're spending two at the Royal...

T H A N K S! I took advantage of some awesome post and advice. Luv ya all

Does anyone think that there will be a problem with it showing that for those prices your only supposed to have 2 guests and that includes children? We too are going at Christmas time and are looking for 5 people(3 adults and 2 children) and I want to stay at the HRH and have been quoted 225 (AAA) plus an extra $25 for the additional adult. It's only 179 on travel hero, but I'm worried about the 2 guest thing, and I wonder if the hotel would add on $75 per nite for the 3 extra people???

They may charge you when you check in, but only for 1 extra person. Children are free. The most you will have to pay is $25 a night for the extra adult.

Teresa

I was worried about that at Xmas time last years when I had booked at www.hotels.com. Hard Rock told me not to worry because there are only 6 rooms with in the entire hotel with King beds.

UPDATE on my case:

Who would not be thrilled to pay under $145/night when the lowest price you could get elsewhere is over $190 right at Christmas?

So it turns out I offered to pay it all in full, in case it was a blooper and yes, the hotel now refuses to honor the original charge.

The people have been polite but this is very disappointing. They're checking to see what can be done but I have already told them that if I can't get the original rate I signed up for I want the reservation cancelled immediately.

Just be careful, if it sounds too good to be true...
