If your looking to adopt a pet please look at www.petfinder.com//index.html

I will Louey~

Thanks for the advice...we live near the school that has a huge open field that is mostly fenced. I need to find a dog park with a fence and a lake:)
Of course we would pick up the Doo-doo too.

I have no experience with a crate so that good advice too.

I am not sure about the potty training except for bringing her outside every so often and telling her to go:rotfl:

I thought about Invisible fence but I don't like the idea of shocking her:confused3 but part of the yard is fenced from the neighbor so it would only be needed on the back and side of the yard.

I will post a pic as soon as I get her:love:

We had labs growing up so I am excited for my kids to have their first dog

The thing with the invisible fence, most dogs train easily. Once they are trained they shouldn't get shocked unless they try to run through it. After awhile we didn't even put the collar on him he knew where he could go and only challenged once in the beginning and that was it. Also, since she is from a rescue especially if she is in foster care they would have been working on the potty training already so you may get her and have no issues. Again Congrats I can't wait to see a picture of her.

I wanna show off!!!!

We just adopted "Charley" an American Bulldog on Sept 8th - and I am SO IN LOVE!!!

He was on his last day, at a shelter in Southern Illinois when that shelter started calling no-kill shelter's (found the one by me) looking for space for him because he is AMAZING! Such a GOOD DOG!!!

I think his pit-bully look made people scared to adopt him - but the only vicious thing about him, is his farts.

Im crazy, just CRAZY about him!!!

(here comes lots-o-pics)

Here's a picture of her!

So technically we are her foster until the home visit I suppose. I am still waiting where to pick here up but she is coming all the way from WV to Upstate NY on Saturday. We think we can meet her at the pick-up at 3:30

YAY:cool1:

My daughter keeps telling me I have to change my user name to famofseven HAHHAHA

I guess she is a mix but maybe someone will be able to help us guess with what when we get a better picture of her.

Well...we got her:dogdance:

She is very sweet and you can tell she has had some training...she does not mess the crate and does her business outside so far.

She was one of twelve puppies that were neglected and abandoned:sad2: :sad1:

I think she is so happy to be home...we can't wait to make it official.

I think is was way worth it to take the time to find the right pup on petfinder.

That is good to hear, I am glad she is happy in her forever home. I say you hit the nail on the head by saying "I think it was way worth it to take the time to find the right pup on petfinder".

I just wanted to bump this up so that people could see the positive rescue stories since the crazy Ellen rescue is on the forefront of people's minds. These poor animals need homes:sad1:

Too funny! Was he just chillin' like this or is that how he gets down? He is adorable.
