If your heart is in your DREAM ……… a Aug/Sept 2011, NEW - links to dining/trip report

Karin, we will arive on Sept 6 & will be going to WPE for lunch. Can't wait to try it.

We are staying at CBR until Sept. 12. All of our dinner ressies are between 5 & 6 due to the GDs. I know something can be arranged for a meet.

Doris

Sounds like a perfect relaxing day. Hope you enjoy RP :)

Wonderful Update Karin !!!Now I have some news, my other friend Carol , who just started the Escort thing called me this morning after a trip to Amish Country and said would I consider doing a CRUISE next year:cloud9::banana::banana:Not sure which one but they have Hawaiin, Alaskan, Caribbean and DISNEY!!!!!!!!:banana: So now I will be doing maybe 4 trips next year:banana::banana::banana:

The upside of having not been able to come to the Dis for a few days is that I get a big bunch of Karin and Tom updates! :thumbsup2

Apparently, congrats are in order! Yeah for both finishing the school year and for making your 2012 plans. :woohoo:

I saw this today and had to share this link with you. It's not the Dream but still pretty darn snazzy. Made me smile at least. :cloud9:

I now need to go make dinner... your DCL food pics are KILLING me! ;)

Doris, you are starting your vacation off right, going to WPE for lunch and if you are staying at CBR we will be kind of "neighbours". We stay just down the road! :lmao:

I am sure we can arrange a meet. We never really stick to our plans, mostly only to the ADRs and EMH, but I will PM you our phone number and since we will have a car we will be free to move around.

So many meets this summer - this should be a grand vacation! :woohoo:

Sounds like a perfect relaxing day. Hope you enjoy RP :)

I cannot wait to explore the DREAM. And since we have explored Nassau before AND will return two more times this summer, it should be fun to have the ship to "ourselves". ;)

:woohoo: Rosie, I hope you get a Disney one - they do go to all those destinations! :rotfl2:
I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and maybe you even know more about it when we meet! :goodvibes

I was missing you!

I am VERY happy to say that I don't have the drive to school for at least 7 1/2 more weeks! :woohoo:

Thanks for the link - that's my favourite ship so far! (the only one I ever cruised on! :lmao:).
I have seen it before and Tom even saved it for me, but it makes me want to go on a cruise EVERY time I see it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Trip planning:

Day 11, August 23

It’s Castaway Cay day. We will get up early,

hopefully watch the ship dock at Castaway Cay,

IMG_6674.jpg

then take showers and be ready for room service breakfast at 7.30.

After breakfast we will leave the ship early, pick up a towel and head for the shuttle to Serenity Bay.

Once we have arrived we will pick a lounge chair,

IMG_6695-1.jpg

apply loads of sunscreen, impatiently wait for it to dry off a bit and then head for the ocean. After a long dip in the water

IMG_6676.jpg

we will dry off and hope for one of those nice CMs to come by, so we can order some nice cool drinks.

IMG_6678.jpg

While enjoying those drinks we will watch the other guests enjoying the crystal clear waters

IMG_6680.jpg

and enjoy the wonderful scenery. After one or two more swims we will then head over to the cookout behind the Castaway Air Bar for some lunch.

By mid afternoon we will head back to the DREAM, take a shower and then head out for a snack and delivering some more Fish Extender goodies. Once back we will chill for a while and then head to the top deck to watch the first part of the Pirate Show.

Once this is over we will wander the ship a little until it will be time for our pirate dinner in our assigned dining rotation.

After dinner we will head back on deck to wait for the fireworks and the second part of the Pirate Show, before we will go and check out the Pirate Buffet, they put up. I guess after that we will be pretty tired, so we will stroll back to our stateroom, and sit out on the veranda for a while, before we give in and fall asleep.

Your Day looks sooooo relaxing !!As for the cruise if we get a Disney one , I will be picking your brain my friend !!!!

Looks like a very relaxing day!
Here's a tip: instead of waiting til you disembark to apply sunscreen and then have to waste time waiting for it to dry while you're on the beach, apply it while you're still in your room! That way you can hop right in the water when you get to Serenity Bay!

Karin, I admit I haven't read the whole pre-trip report! I usually only read dining reports but I popped over here to see when your next one would be and see that some of our vacation days overlap! We will be in the World from 8/25 thru 9/4. Maybe our paths will cross those last few days of your vacation! One thing for sure, I look forward to reading your dining report once we return from our respective trips! :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Oh Karin, you crack me up.

You two are SO GOOD at taking pictures of food!! Seriously.....

Hi Karin!
I'm so sorry I have been MIA on this PTR! I haven't been DISsing as much because I'm getting ready for my cruise (on RCI) in 13 days on another forum. :scared1: ANyway....I am back here in Italy, and just wanted to say how thoroughly jealous I am that you are able to go to Italy by taking a lovely drive in your car! :woohoo: I'm glad you enjoyed a re-visit to your childhood vacation spot (even if you hated it when you were kids!:rotfl:). It all looks so .....Italian....not at all like USA beaches. ANd I am drooling over the pizza! I LOVE the capriciossa- that's what Pods & I shared when we had our very first REAL Italian pizza in Italy- in Venice at la' Accademia at the foot of that bridge. HEAVEN.....:cloud9:

OK- a little more catching up to do.....:surfweb:

Ellen

ps- I'm very excited this trip is nearly here for you!! :dance3::yay:

I really hope it turns out that way! Tom and I love Castaway Cay, it is just such a wonderful and peaceful day. And feel free to ask any questions once you are assigned that Disney Cruise! :thumbsup2

Thanks for your tip, about the sunscreen - problem is, I have very sensitive skin, so I DO apply sunscreen before we leave the ship. But in order to be out in the sun I need "another layer" :lmao: to stay in the sun. I apply loads of it every few hours, not the nicest feeling but at least I don't turn into a boiled lobster! :lmao:

How nice of you to hop over here and look up my dates. I really hope our paths will cross! It should be so nice. We might even have a small meet one of the days you are there, just didn't have the time to get things organized.
But if we miss each other - you are in for another epic! We have LOADS of Dining planned! :thumbsup2

Karin, did you know that you can now place your food orders online for WPE? Here's the link: https://www.wolfgangpucktogo.com/orders/startup.aspx?cid=94&LocID=862

They have a place for "returning guests" to sign in (of course, that means if you've already established your account); however, that category hardly describes you and Tom. You two are more like "super guests" or "honored guests" or "super guests"! :thumbsup2

I found out about the online ordering when looking up the menus at WPE, not that I don't know what they offer by heart! :rotfl2:
But thanks for pointing it out! :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Oh Karin, you crack me up.

:thumbsup2 We get LOTS of practice taking those food pictures during our visits to Disney!

Ellen, don't worry, we all get too busy to fit in some serious DIStime from time to time! ;)
Wow! Another cruise in 13 days! Where are you going?
I am glad you liked the little Italian excursion, it was very nice to revisit, even though things had changed a lot!
We love Venice! Such a beautiful city and I am glad you enjoyed your REAL Italian pizza!

Trip planning:

Day 12, August 24

Our first day at sea. We will most likely sleep in a little, then around 8.30 head to Cabanas for breakfast.

IMG_6560.JPG

We are not really into breakfast buffets, but I want to at least try it once. Once we have sufficiently filled our bellies we will explore the ship until 10.30 to join the “The Art of The Theme Ship” tour, which will last for an hour.

DSC_0425.JPG

After a tour through the shops we will most likely try to get a table at the Royal Palace for lunch.

IMG_6581.JPG

I guess there will be some time to relax and enjoy some time at our stateroom until we will head to Meridian again for the Wine Tasting.

IMG_7149.jpg

I am not a huge wine lover, but Tom is and we did this last year and both enjoyed it very much.

DSC_0908.jpg

That should get us into the right mood for our next food extravaganza, as we have a reservation at Palo for High Tea. We have never tried this before so I am kind of looking forward to it. Only downside is that I checked their tea menu and there is not much I really like, so I ordered some Fortnum and Mason Earl Grey from my aunt in Britain to bring with us. ;) :thumbsup2Should be fun explaining it to the server. :rotfl2: After enjoying the High Tea, I guess we will need to take a break. I am so happy we won’t have to pack everything up like most of our fellow cruisers as we will stay on the DREAM for two more cruises. So, after napping for a while we will get ready for dinner. We will miss our regular dining rotation and have dinner tonight at Palo.

Guess a chocolate soufflé will make its way onto our table

IMG_6639.JPG

after a lot of other delightful dishes. Once we are stuffed to the gills again we will then roll back to our stateroom, have a glass of an adult beverage out on the veranda and enjoy the rest of the evening before calling it a night and going to bed.

Hi Karin, just read your Dream plans, love the pictures. I will have to send my DD's that video link from Momapotts of the Wonder. We are going to do the explore Atlantis tour and hopefully come back early and ride the aquaduck. We are parasailing in the morning at Castaway Cay(it was cancelled the last time we were there), then we will head over to Serenity Bay (my favorite part of the cruise). :) We are having dinner at Palo our last night of the cruise. We weren't able to get a brunch reservation.
