If your heart is in your DREAM ……… a Aug/Sept 2011, NEW - links to dining/trip report

Thank you for your well wishes. My leg is still swollen, but no longer hurts when walking, so at least that's a start.

Teri, what time of year were you looking at for your Eastern Caribbean Fantasy cruise? Wouldn't it be fun if we could go at the same time? We will go on the one starting Aug 25. Any chances you could go then too?

Hi Karin, The Aug. 25th date sounds good because Mick's birthday is the 27th and our Anniversary is the 28th.:woohoo: Are you waiting to book on board? I noticed the price had gone up since the last time I checked.

Your pictures of the food is getting me excited for our trip. Mick loves WPE's creme' brulee' and the sushi at Cali Grill looks so good!!! We are getting our very own Japanese Steakhouse with a sushi bar in our town and it opens this weekend. Can't wait to try it!

Loving your plans Karin! :thumbsup2

Congrats on school being done for the summer.

And a new ticker!!!!

Thank you, Sophia!
I am glad school is over and done with for the next 8 and a half weeks! :woohoo:

I am pretty happy with my new ticker, especially since it looks like we could spend some extra special time with some friends! :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Ah... I have yet to eat breakfast... so guess what your latest planning does for me??? Yum!!!!

I love how you use the pictures to help show what you plan to do. It really brings the planning to life. :goodvibes

Sorry about the food pics, Ann! :rotfl2: That time difference can be horrible, can't it?

Glad you like my style of doing the planning days!

:woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo: I cannot believe you are thinking about the August 25 cruise as well! I told Tom that there is a chance we could be cruising together and he was sooooooooooo happy about it! IF it works out we need to make sure we're seated together! :thumbsup2

Yes, I have seen the rise in cruise prices as well, but we still want to wait until we can book on board, as the 10% off the cruise price still is an incentive and so is the onboard credit. We will be gold Castaway Cay members by then and should receive $275 onboard credit as well. Don't want to loose that. :goodvibes

Tom and I LOVE WPE creme brulee too! To me it's the best on property! ;) And it has nothing to do with the fact that Wolfgang was born and raised in Austria! :rotfl2: ;)
Yay for getting a new Steakhouse! It's always interesting to try new things!

Trip planning:

Day 8, August 20

One thing is sure today, we will definitely put the “Privacy Please” doorhanger outside and sleep in.

IMG_5485.jpg

Once we get up we will grab something out of our fridge for breakfast before we pack a few more things and then head over to Epcot for some fun

DSC_0656.JPG

IMG_6351.JPG

and some lunch. I guess we will share two CS credits in two different countries around World Showcase

IMG_0098.JPG

IMG_9808.JPG

and try to fit in a ride or two.

IMG_3522.jpg

In the afternoon we will definitely head back to our resort, pack up the rest of our stuff

IMG_0869.jpg

and try to get in some quiet pool time.
If everything goes as planned we will still have a few Counter Service credits to burn, so we will return to the Magic Kingdom

IMG_5893.jpg

IMG_5898.jpg

for dinner at either Columbia Harbour House,

IMG_5914.jpg

Pecos Bill’s or Pinocchio’s Pizzeria, whatever we feel like. Since this will be our last night at the parks before our cruise extravaganza we will stay until the park closes, trying to fit in a few more rides

IMG_7728.jpg

and watching Wishes again.

IMG_8378.jpg

IMG_4050.jpg

After Wishes we will trek back to the car and drive back to our villa. I hope that everything is packed up by then and that we can enjoy our last evening there. Guess we will be in bed by midnight dreaming of the pirate adventures that are ahead of us!

And here is a little extra information ........

WE ARE DOWN TO 29 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3: :woohoo: :dance3:

Just have to share a little experience with you as well. I think I mentioned that I called Disney.uk to have them add a room request. While I was waiting for the CM to finish adding my request I asked if I could use the number they had given me to "unlock" my +10 days for dining reservations for online check-in as well.
First off she was startled to hear about online check-in. :confused3 Then she paused and told me that this didn't apply to THEIR guests.
So I didn't question it any more and let it go. Yesterday morning I got thinking again and used the number on the "mydisneyreservation" site and :woohoo: it pulled up the ressie. Couldn't click on the online check in, so I tried to add it to my account on the official disney site and guess what it worked! It's now reminding me that I CAN do online check in in just 19 days! :rotfl2:

Well done Karin!

Loving all the updates.
I love the day trip to Germany. If only we could do that. We can go to Canada, but why would I want to.. LOL! Actually right over the boarder near us us not really exciting excpet for casinos. And now we have them in Detroit...and soon not far from where I live. I don't gamble much anyways though.

Great updates, Karin. And :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for figuring out what the CM couldn't...that you can do online check-in. :thumbsup2

Wow, you can check in 19 days before??

Your day sounds like so much fun and I just WISH I could be there for the meet too!!!! You guys are going to have such a fun time.

Awwww, I really want a 40th anniversary bag, but right now, the disneystore is sold out. I hope they'll be back before I leave for NYC in August.

So, this is the end of your park days for now right? Are you returning to the park after the cruise?

Thank you! :goodvibes

If you would live here, a visit to Germany would sound far less interesting! ;) It's just that Passau is very idyllic. Three rivers meet there and it is such a beautiful sight. Actually we have a lot of fun countries all around us and it doesn't take long to get to either one of them! ;)

Thank you, Kathy!
I knew the CM had no idea what I was talking about when she didn't know about online check in. :lmao: I am really happy about being able to add it to my reservations - and even more that the Disney website now reminds me not to forget to check in online! :goodvibes

Looks like another great day planned!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks Ann, I am trying real hard, when planning our days. Following the plans in the end is a whole other ballgame! :rotfl2:

No Yuki, I cannot check in 19 days before. I might have phrased it wrongly. We will arrive at OKW in 29 days and in 19 days from today I will be able to do the online check in, 10 days before we arrive there.

I really wish you could have made it to the meet too! But maybe next year. It was wonderful meeting you last year and I can't believe it's nearly been a year since we met.

Yip, this is the end of park days for part 1 of 3. We will then go on three cruises and return to OKW and the parks for 9 more nights after that.

Hi Karin

I am stuck at home poorly today and I have just read your PTR from start to finish! We are on the middle party of your cruise with you - very excited about your FE gift hints!

Loving your pictures of Austria - many years ago (1988, to be precise!) I went on an international Scout and Guide camp and we stayed near Linz - brought back many happy memories.

All of your food pictures are fantastic - and so pleased you managed to get cabanas on the CC days.

Looking forward to reading your cruise plans.

Wow! Reading the whole PTR ...... you deserve a medal! ;) And I remember you from the Aug 25 thread! Can't wait to say hello in person!

Glad that thinking of Austria brings back happy memories, the same goes for us - we loved all our visits to the UK! :thumbsup2 Plus we do have family there, so it is a bit like home.

Cruise plans coming up shortly. We cancelled the Remy reservation we had, as even after numerous times of studying the menu, I cannot find enough exciting things on that menu to justify the additional cost. :sad2:
Plus I cancelled the first one of the Cabanas as well. 1200$ for three days sounded a bit over the top in the end, but we will have one on the second and third cruise.

Trip planning:

Day 9, August 21

:woohoo: Our cruise days have arrived! :cloud9:

So after checking if everything is packed and stowed in the car we will check out of our “home away from home” and head over to Downtown Disney for a hearty breakfast at, yes, you guessed it, Wolfgang Puck’s Express.

IMG_5851.JPG

Thinking of it now, I guess a breakfast pizza will be ordered by me! Once we have sufficiently filled our stomachs we will then hit the road and drive to Port Canaveral.

IMG_9570.JPG

IMG_9573.JPG

Once we have arrived there, we will drop our luggage with luggage services and head over to Cape Canaveral to return our rental car and say goodbye to our convertible.
We will then either get a shuttle back to the port or try to catch a cab back.

IMG_6511.JPG

Back at port we will get in line for the security check and then join either the Castaway Club members line or the foreigners line, whatever appears to be shorter.

klein_426.jpg

Once checked in, we will wait for our assigned boarding time, which will be interesting, as you can pick your boarding time online and I picked a time between 1 and 1.30pm. I guess by that time we will be pretty excited to board and finally lay eyes on the “inner beauty” of the ship.

DSC_0424.JPG

Depending on when we get to board we will either wait it out and check out our stateroom or head for lunch to Cabanas.

IMG_6522.JPG

IMG_6529.JPG

With lunch out of our way we will settle in into our stateroom and get ready for the lifeboat drill and lateron join Mickey, Minnie and TinkerBell for the the sailaway party.

DSC_0518.JPG

After the party we will enjoy seeing the vessel leave Port Canaveral, waving to the people out on the pier.

DSC_0398.JPG

When we will have finally reached the open sea we will head back to our stateroom to change and then head to the Walt Disney Theatre for the Golden Mickey’s show.

DSC_0300.jpg

After the show we will explore the ship and the shops before we will finally get ready to head to our assigned restaurant of the evening. Let’s hope we will have nice company at the table and we all can enjoy the evening to the fullest.

klein_494.jpg

I guess it will be around 10 pm when we head back to the stateroom, change into something more comfortable and head out on our first Fish Extender Round. As I have heard the corridors are LONG, so it will be our workout for the day, as we have quite a few participants on all three of our cruises. Remembering our former cruises we will finish off the evening sitting out on our verandah with a nice drink and some snacks before it will be time to fall into bed.

The first day of the cruise sounds wonderful. The Golden Mickey Show looks great!

Trip planning:

Day 10, August 22

I really hope that even though we went to bed late, we will wake up in time to see the ship dock in Nassau.

IMG_6865.JPG

IMG_6879.JPG

If we have time one of us will head up to Cabanas and grab some coffee and something to nibble on while watching it dock. This time we have no excursions booked for Nassau, so we are in no hurry to leave the ship. So after having taken a shower we will head to the Royal Palace for breakfast.

IMG_6786.JPG

It looks like they are offering a TS breakfast, which is what we really enjoy. After breakfast we will then leave the ship and head into Nassau for a little window shopping a picking up a bottle of rum or two.

IMG_6938.JPG

IMG_6575.JPG

And we hope to pick up a few of the island’s specialities as well. I guess we will not venture to far from the harbour and hope to be back on the DREAM for lunch. The lunch menu at the Royal Palace looks nice, so this is where we will be heading.

IMG_6914.JPG

After lunch we will retreat to our stateroom for a while, before heading out to deliver FE gifts again. I guess some time during the afternoon we might even try the quiet pool and have a coffee at the Cove Café or depending on how many people are in line we might even try the Aquaduck.
After heading back to our stateroom for some rest and balcony enjoyment

DSC_0559.jpg

we will head to the Walt Disney Theater to watch the Villains Tonight show. I guess we will stroll around the ship until we head to our dining rotation restaurant for dinner.

IMG_6533.JPG

IMG_6535.JPG

IMG_6544.JPG

After dinner we will either enjoy a walk around the open deck or sit outside on our verandah for a while before we will call it an earlier night tonight, as the next day is going to be Castaway Cay day!

I did it again. I checked some updates on various DIS threads BEFORE I ate my lunch and there you are showing food again. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
