If your cruise price drops...

I've not had this happen but I've heard that they automatically refund it. No need to call.

You will need to contact DCL to have them make the adjustment. They won't just refund you money on the cruise price dropping. This is only if the price drop is without using a code or *GT rate. They will refund you automatically if the port fees or taxes are less.

That's good to know.....do they lower their prices often? I noticed on CruiseFish that it showed a price lowering on 7/28 for the cruise we've booked.....we booked after that though.

No, it's not common but it does happen occasionally. More often, prices are tiered and will increase as more staterooms are booked. A small drop may occur if there's been an adjustment to the taxes and/or port fees - and that WILL be refunded automatically.

That's why I love my TA. They automatically adjust the price for me if it drops, then call and tell me the good news. :goodvibes

When has the price on a Disney cruise EVER dropped? :confused3 Not very often, I imagine.

Other cruise line prices go down as the cruise gets closer, if they have empty rooms....and they will reimburse you if you call them or send in a price change form. But I've never had that happen in 12 Disney cruises, nor has anyone I know personally who cruises with Disney, and that's a LOT of people.

Stay connected on the DIS thread for your cruise. That is where you will get info if the price should drop.

May PC cruise this year. After full payment was due the prices dropped drastically! We were booked (two adults) inside stateroom and even with the penalty of canceling after final payment we moved up to a verandah (11 to 7) AND got $600 cash back. It does happen if they need to fill the ship.

:cheer2::cheer2: That's awesome! Yes, I can see it happening, but usually only on the cruises where there are likely to be less kids onboard, if that makes sense......

If we get a price drop, we have to cancel and rebook? Sounds iffy if all the family has their rooms assigned together already etc...?

If the price drop is due to a *GT being offered, then you would have to cancel and re-book. *GTs are for "new bookings only". Sometimes cancelling (even with the penalties) and rebooking will still save you money.

And, yes, you take the chance that multiple rooms will no longer be connecting (or even adjoining).

keep in mind adjustments only happen if the price drop PRIOR to final payment. Price drops after final payment will not get you a refund or on board credit :(

Still happens if after PIF date. We were booked in a 1 BR on the Magic last spring and after PIF date, the price for our room category dropped (presumably because they were not selling well) and the total savings for my family was $980. My TA called and they refunded the amount to our card the same day, no canceling/rebooking needed. But as stated, this is highly unusual.

This is not at all the norm nor the DCL policy. I had 3 cabins booked on the Fantasy this past May. Rates dropped 2 days after final payment date (keep in mind final payment date and the date you paid in full can be different if you paid your cruise off early or prior to the FINAL payment date). and NO refund, NO on board credit given.

Yes, the price you pay for saving money. Some were not willing to do that and stayed at the price they had. Some of us made the jump and lost $200 obc to get $600 back and move from inside to verandah. The math made sense to us as we do not necessarily need to be right next door to those we travel with. If it is parents and children, then yes absolutely you would want to keep the rooms together.

Maybe I just got lucky then. Price drop happened 48 days before sailing, and TA did not indicate that she had to to any pleading/convincing/arguing to make it happen. She just told me that they said yes & refunded the money. Maybe it was because we were concierge or the CM she got on the phone just made a mistake.
