Can the birthday candles be put in other desserts than the traditional cake? Are the cakes worth it for a splurge if you were only splurging on 1 dessert all week? What about the choc lava cake? Then Id need to celebrate the night that's avail, right?

Good morning imgoingtodisney.

Are the cakes worth it for a splurge if you were only splurging on 1 dessert all week?

I'd imagine it depends upon how much you like cake. My personal preference would be a hot fudge sundae with maple walnut ice cream...

Absolutely! Although I'd rather have my candles ON the dessert...

Barb, I think birthdays are meant to be celebrated for a whole week which means dessert every night!

If I only had to choose one, I'd choose the Palo dessert, or maybe the bananas flambe, or maybe the cheesecake, or maybe the tiramisu, or maybe the.......... oh heck, to be honest, I'd choose them ALL and skip the appetizers and any daytime and nighttime snacks and do alot of walking!

you can have the birthday cake but just don't eat it.........
What I mean is they can bring you out your cake sing to you etc. but just let everyone else eat the cake and you can have another dessert or save your special splurge for later in the week.
I can honestly say in the two previous bdays I have never tasted the "standard cake" We usually end up bringing it back to our stateroom and DS has some as a bedtime snack. I much prefer the fancy desserts.

How about the best dessert....chocolate Souffle from Palos!! I would eat one everynight even its if was not my birthday!! ;)

Ohhh i'm so hungry for that!! And over 300 days left!! Ahhhhh

On Mom's BD night, they took her regular dessert order. After it came, they brought the BD cake and sang. We ended taking the cake back to stateroom to nibble on later. It was very tasty~ white cake, white icing, w/white chocolate ship candy strip on top and sprinkles. Sorry, I don't remember any candle being involved.
I am assuming if you want the yummy 'warm chocolate lava cake'
you will need to celebrate the night it is available. Otherwise, you may have to make special arrangements w/HS early in week. I suggest you go to Barb and Tony's site and ck out the menues.
Have fun!! ;)

If I were going to splurge on only one desert the whole week it would be a tough choice between the Creme Brulee and the Chocolate Lava Cake....both were absolutely awesome!

The standard BD cake is pointless, I wouldn't blow my one dessert for the week on that! Bring it back to the room and let DS and DH snack on it at night.

You are really getting all crazy about not gaining weight for no reason...I had desert every single night on the cruise and I ended up coming home weighing less than when I went...with all the walking up the stairs, on the beaches, around the decks and swimming I burned off more than I normally do without even trying and didn't gain at all.

I cruised in May....4 nights. Then 9 nights at Disney. I came home 1 pound heavier. I ate like a king (or a queen, in my case) Often times on the cruise I had TWO desserts thanks to our server who always brought an extra just "in case we wanted to try it!!!"

I took the stairs up and down nearly everytime and walked around deck 4 a few times.

ENJOY!!!!! I agree, you're TOO worried about this! Just kick back and relax!!!
