...would you choose the 1st and 2nd, 8th and 9th, or 15th and 16th?

I assume it's going to get busier the closer it gets to Yule?

Anyone who reads this, if you could think positively for us that we have to do this plan where our trip includes a weekend? Because if it came true, despite a weekend being our least favorite choice, it would mean something else good was happening for DH's career! :upsidedow

Probably the 8/9 or the 15/16 because the 1/2 is the Candlelight Processional. All three weekends Monster's Inc. is scheduled to be down. No other major differences.

Thank you for reminding me of the Candlelight Processional.

You've reminded me that I knew about Monster's...but I don't remember when it goes down (or is it JUST down on the weekends and open on the weekdays? (yeah, right)). I guess I could just check the website. :)

Wow, it closes Nov 26th??!! And I don't see it opening, well, at all on the calendar. Perhaps I need to go read Al's article again. :upsidedow

Monsters and Buzz are DS's favorites...and this closure means even MORE times through Buzz.....:scared:

I agree with DLR29, and would choose the weekend of 8-9 or 15-16. Either way, the crowds won't be nearly as bad as they are between Christmas and New Year's, and you'll get to enjoy all of the holiday decorations and parades. I love Disneyland at Christmas time. I hope it works out for you, especially since it seems to involve a career move!

Woohoo! We will just have to go on a weekend!

DH was interviewing for a new job (and company), and he got it. His current workweek is 4 days, 10 hours each, over the weekend. So he has a nice 3 day "weekend" every week, and that makes things easy for traveling when no one else is. His new job, however, will be 5 days, 8 hours a day, booooring. :) During the proper week.

And of course he will not have any vacation time accrued, and given the nature of the company and the job, he can't take time off at the holidays anyway, so our son and I will go to San Diego and visit my brother, while DH works and works...and he will just have to come down on a weekend and meet us at Disneyland on my much-needed side-trip.

And we will just have to put on our happy faces and deal with the crowds. :upsidedow

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1:

Congrats to your DH!! I hope he enjoys his new job!

We will be there the 15-17th, for DD's b-day. Our first Christmas season in the parks!! We are looking forward to it and have NO clue how crowded it will be, we are hoping it's not.

Man, I just can't think straight!

This trip, like our September trip, will have two parts to it. One part is a trip for me and DS to see my brother in San Diego. The other part will be Disney, and DH will fly down for that.

Seems sort of easy to plan, but we've all had what I can only call the plague  , since we got back from Disneyland. First a headcold, then a day of tummy problems, then an overall illness. DS gets it first, then as he comes out of it I get it, then DH. And here I am, coming out of that third phase (as DH goes into the last part of it), trying to plan this, and I can't think!!!!

Bwa ha ha...December 7th, the only available room at DLH is $450. Bwa ha ha ha ha. Nothing AP4 related over the 7th, 8th, or 9th.:scared:

So now I'm trying to figure out what good neighbor hotel I want to stay at, and this time I want a continental breakfast!

We were there the end of November first few days of December last year and it was busy. My vote would be the 8th and 9th.

WARNING - Our last December trip our final day was Friday Dec. 17th, 2004. The crowds were larger than expected (was written up on mouseplanet the next week). When we left DCA at closing and tried to head back to Disneyland it was so crowded that they let us in backstage past the hat store and out near the baby center and tomorrowland. It was great to get to see backstage - but the crowd was quite frankly frightening. We had been to Disneyland two previous Decembers without any problems, but we always were there a week earlier.
