If you want to use EMH effectively, what do you do?

Let's assume you are of the commando style (remember, this is hypothetical...)...

If the posted park opening is, for instance, 9 AM, that means that EMH starts at 8 AM. But what time should you be at the gate for the 8 AM opening? 7:15 AM? 7:30 AM? Is this to get through security and the turnstiles before 8 AM? So does that mean I can catch a bus from my onsite resort at 7 AM or 6:45 AM to be at the gate by 7:30 AM. Do the buses run that early?

Remember...all hypothetically speaking...right...

Knowing the time of year you are visiting would help. A trip in February is a LOT different than, say, July 4th weekend. ;)

If you arrive about 10-15 minutes before opening you should be fine.

Even last week with the Christmas crowds, there wasn't a problem getting in.

We only take the bus to MK, and we tried to get to the bus stop about 30-40 minutes before the park opened. So, if EE starts at 8am, then we'd TRY to get to the bus stop at 7:20.

At Christmas week the MK opened at 8:00, so on Sunday and Thursday EMH was at 7:00. That meant we wanted to be at the turnstiles at 6:45, although some of the first families there (probably arrived by 6:15) were asked to help "open" the park, went through the turnstiles early, got their picture taken, and were announced by a CM as the park opened.

The problem for us was the busses. There were about four families waiting at 6:30 the Sunday before Christmas but no bus showed until 7:00, so we missed the opening. It wasn't that big a deal, since we went right through security and the turnstiles, and the park was still nearly empty at 7:15, but we missed the opening.

Of course, the later EMH is, the greater the number of people willing to be up at that hour, and the less advantage.
