I am staying in POP the end of this month. I have some questions about laundry. We are staying in a standard room. How are the washers/dryers stationed?? Is there one per building or one per floor?? Do you know how much they cost?? Are they constantly being used?? Or is it easy to get one??? I am trying to figure out if it is better to pack light and do laundry, or just pack for every day we will be there?? Any input would be great!!

I did laundry there in 3/2007. The building that holds the laundry was by the pool. It was clean and I had the place to my self. I think I did laundry in the middle of the week in the early evening. I 'm not sure of the cost $2 seems to stick in my head for the wash.

I'm not sure if there is more than one laundry room but the one we used was right in the back of the computer pool, right across from the 90s building. This convenient if you are doing the laundry while you are at the pool.

I think briarrose is correct with the $2.00 figure...2 each for washer and dryer if I remember right.

We were able to find open washers when we needed them, but they weren't many open ones.

I have done both - packed heavy and came home with dirty laundry. Packed light and did laundry while at POP.
I prefer to pack light and do laundry. The only problem I had was on our last trip - we stayed in the 70's section of POP and it does not have a laundry, you have to go either to the 60's (which was packed with folks doing laundry) or to the 90's (which was further away). It was no fun hauling the laundry to and from that building. :(
But with that said - I am still choosing to pack light on our next trip (Dec 07) and do laundry while there.
We (mom and DD10) make it fun event. She gets to play in the pool, while mom does laundry (laundry buildings are right next to the pools). So for the 1-2 hours it takes to wash and dry our clothes - she has a ball in the pool.
Wash is $2 per load and Drying is $2 per load. There are machines that sell detergent and fabric softener in the laundry buildings. I have brought stuff from home and bought it at the building.
I know that the 50's, 60's and 90's have laundry buildings - the 70's does not.
Hope this helps with your decision.

I'm pretty sure there is a laundry building next to each of the three pools.

Yes laundry at all 3 pools between the bathrooms at the pools. VERY VERY clean laundrys too. 2.00 for washer, 2.00 for dryer and laundry soap is 2.00 if you buy it there most who thinks they might do laundry brings some from home.

While I don't normally use powdered detergent I might for disney and put a cup full in a baggie for each load then put in a freezer zip lock just in case a bag busts. Fabric sheets take up NO room what so ever an they easy to pack.

There seem to be plenty of units. We had no trouble finding an open washer or dryer.:wizard:

These are the cleanest laundromats I have ever seen! We bring ziploc baggies with pre-measured powdered Tide as well as dryer sheets from home. Its worked out very well for us. Also, it usually costs more than $2 to get a load of clothes dry.

We do laundry each year at Pop. As others have stated, there are 3 pools with three laundromats. It is $2 to wash, $2 to dry. You may have to dry your clothes twice, however. The dryer runs for 30 minutes. Most wash loads need 45 min or more.

Pop keeps their laundry rooms very clean. Our only problem in July is that it's very busy - and difficult to find a washer.

Pack light - wash clothes. It's much easier than lugging double the clothing.

I always use one of our rolling suitcases to put the dirty clothes in - roll it to the laundry room - then fold and put them back in the suitcase and roll it back to the room. MUCH easier than carrying the pop-up hamper that far! :)

I just hate putting my dirty laundry into the suitcase and putting the clean into it later! I always take one of those lightweight nylon bags to put the dirty clothes in, throw it into the wash with the clothes and then its clean for the clean clothes! (yes I know, I'm really anal ;))

That way our room stays nice a neat all week too!
