If you stay off property.....can you?

Can you drive onto and visit Disney resorts to see their layouts for possible future visits? I know if you are a disney guest you can but if you are just vacationing in the area off resort?

I am curious about the value resort family suites at asmovies, pop century, etc. I have seen pictures but I want to see for myself. Thanks!

Any resort will issue you a temporary parking pass if you stop at the gate, show a photo i.d., and tell them you'd like to tour the resort.

We always go to the different resorts and check out their gift shops ect. I just tell the guard at the gate that we want to check out the gift shop andd have never been turned down.

We have looked at and visited Disney resorts when staying off-site, just be polite to the security guards and you will have no problem.

As far as viewing actual rooms, if there is one unoccupied and there is a CM free to take you to view it, they will allow it, but if they are all full they wo'nt allow you to view a room someone is staying in.

Also don't show up between 9:00 and 11:00 am and 3:00 and 7:00 pm when they are at their peak times for check-ins and outs, because they wo'nt take someone away from the desk to give you a tour.

Disney is very accomidating to all just ask.

the only exception is when an guest reports something missing.

then the security guards will only allow current guest on the property.

Otherwise you can visit any and at the properties.

the MK resort during MVCMP won't allow you park either - unless you have a confirmation dinner reservation.

We have gone to Dwontown Disney and taken the bus to different resorts to have a little look see.
