I work in mammography. It can be frustrating at times since generally people don't like having to come in but for so many people who've had their breast cancer detected early, and really appreciate what we do, it's the greatest feeling.
I worked in general xray for 9 years in the same hospital which is also a Level 1 trauma center and regional spinal cord injury center. I felt a little more "well-rounded" then, performing exams on the whole body, different ages, etc and worried when I made the switch if I would be bored to limit myself to just 1 body part but I'm glad I did. Besides routine & diagnostic exams, we also assist with pre-op needle localizations and ultrasound or stereotactic core biopsies.
The best part is that it's weekdays only. No call, holidays, nights, weekends, etc. and because I'm still in the same dept at our hospital, I could keep my accrued time and seniority.
