Is anyone out there waiting to book simply because they have not received a pin or code? I am having a hard time making the commitment when I know with a code I could save over $700!!

My Mom got one for 30% but is not going to Disney and, of course, we can't use it :(

**Congrats to all those who have received :goodvibes **

Yes - I've not made reservations yet, but have called a few times requesting them to check if I have a pin. We're up in the air whether to do WDW or DC for vacation this summer and DC is looking more doable. Plus, if we were to have a 40% discount, the only time we could go is on Aug. 10th because of summer break. Not too fired up about Aug heat (no pun intended)!

Oh man, I would have booked 2 months ago if we'd have gotten a code. As it is, I spend hours pouring over the boards trying to see if anything has come up and more hours looking at off-site hotels to try and decide what we'll book if we dont get a code. I had settled on the Omni, as seen in my siggie....but honestly, am not sure. Having a code would be nice for the savings but also for the PEACE it would bring me.

Good good luck to us all!!!:thumbsup2 :cool1: :goodvibes

thanks - glad to know I'm not the only one on these boards who can't take the plunge :)

I had really specific dates for travel, so I had to go ahead and book. Didn't want to take a chance.

I'll be looking for a code every day, just the same. :surfweb:

Have you tryed using it ? You might surprise yourself :upsidedow

Well, I was fortunate to get the bounceback deal for September so I do have that booked, but we really prefer the 10/19-11/1 timeframe of the 40% pin ... hoping but figure it's unlikely.

I did try. The CM snapped at me and asked if she lived with us, if it was addressed to me or her, and how did I obtain it. By the time I hung up, I felt like a disney criminal :rotfl:

DONT' WAIT TO CALL!!! When we booked last summer, I booked online. I called to change something over the phone ( I think I got a slightly better deal through Dreams Unlimited and wanted to see if they would match the deal). They informed me of the offer that was mailed to me, which was 40% off, so I took it, of course. I had forgotten about the offer because we weren't planning on going. Anyway, I was mailed an offer that was good for dates through March, as far I remember. I was reluctant to call becasue I thought I would be overlooked for a deal if I had already booked a trip. Long story shorter, I called to see if I had a pin, and I did...40% off again. I recommend that you at least call to see if there is something in your file. I know we did not get anything else via mail or e-mail since the postcard that we got in the fall. You never know what they may have for you. Also, the backstage pass through the Disney webstie says to check back soon for deals on Value resorts...I'll let you know what I find out!

I'm waiting too!! Hoping each day that something will come out for June. I think I am going to book something this week with my AAA discount just so we have some reservations. I'm happy to see I'n not alone:goodvibes

I don't go to Disney every year so I booked my trip as I had in the past pre-codes.

If I held out for a code, I'd never go. I got one code in the mail years ago & I think I was able to use it (single, no kids, working FT so I was able to take off whenever) & I used the public codes in 2002.

I do use AAA though.

Yup, I'm holding off booking until I get a code :sad2: ... and it is so difficult for me :scared: ... in previous years, I would have already been booked by now for our annual Dec. trip :santa: ... but this year, I am soooo disappointed and frustrated that we never get a code  that we're probably not going to go to WDW this year at all if we don't get one  ... in one way it's sad, but in another way, maybe a change will be good :) ... I'm just feeling that we've been very loyal to WDW for many years and I just can't understand why they can't send us a code too :confused3

We are also holding off on booking. I think the only way we're all going to be able to go is with a code. Otherwise, my husband wants to stay home to save money. I don't want that. So, we're going to keep our fingers crossed with the rest of you!

I have trips planned for May and Sept. I haven't booked resorts for either though. I'm waiting for an AP code, PIN, or free dining code to come out. Not holding out much hope for a PIN code though. I go four or five times a year and have never received a PIN code.

We're going in May but had some flexibility. However after post after post after post mentioned 20, 30, and 40%-off rates with none including May, we just booked our resort at the AAA rate (better for us than a waterpark ticket update and certainly better than nothing at all). Still hoping we can get an AP rate if/when those are announced, but at least now we have our air and hotel booked.

fyi, this Poly. garden-view rate is the most expensive Poly.rate we've booked, including our 2005 trip when we stayed Poly. concierge -- used a general public code, ah those were the days. :cloud9:

Have we held off booking? Yes and no.

We have tried everything to trigger a good discount.

First, we booked, paid no deposit, and cancelled three days later hoping that perhaps Disney would send an offer. Nope.

Second, we ordered the DVD for 2008, since our 2007 DVD ordered last fall triggered a 20% e-mail code that was good for our dates, but we had to book by Dec. 31/07. A couple of days after ordering the 2008 DVD, we got another 20% code via e-mail, covering the same dates, and it was actually the SAME PIN number! So, we booked again (about a week ago) but I still haven't paid the deposit. I'm hoping that if I wait until the last minute, perhaps another code will come out from Disney enticing us to "confirm" our pending ressie. Whether Disney's database has the capability of figuring that out, I have no idea, but it's worth a shot.

If we get nothing by the deadline, I'll put the deposit down anyway, The CM converted our 20% room-only code to allow it on a package, so we'll have until the first week of July to cancel for our ressie due to start on August 25.

I will NOT pay the balance until that 45 day deadline. We will also likely cancel if no better offer comes out between the day we pay our deposit and the 45 day deadline.

I figure that there are four full months (March to June) for better offers to come available. Some of the possibilities include:

1) Free Dining - IF it comes out and IF it can start on Sunday August 24 rather than Sunday August 30, we will save another $300 over our current deal.

2) A 30% room-only code converted into our package would save us another $150.

3) A 40% room-only code converted into our package would save us another $300.

4) The ticket upgrade to Hoppers and Water Parks & More during value seasons as a package deal have, in the past, seemed to include a 15% discount on the room portion as well. Changing our package to this (we currently have Hoppers) would save about $125 more than our current discount.

5) The dream of all dreams - if they brought back the Buy 4 Get 3 Free Package. THAT one, I think, would save us an extra $450 to $500.

Anyway, our trip is planned during Value season, the last week of August (when the parks start to get less crowded), well within hurricane season. There is no way ANYONE should be paying full rack rates at that time, and - arguably - there should be deals that save far more than 20% off accomodations available. It makes sense for Disney to offer the best discounts at that time - they want to increase attendance, but since there will still be fewer people anyway, fewer discounts will actually get used. And lastly, offering discounts when there prices are at their lowest anyway means that they "lose" less money in the long run - at least when some of the discount is associated with accomodation costs. Free Dining and Ticket Upgrades are essentially equal, regardless of when they're offered.

Essentially, if I'm remebering my old economics class correctly, if Disney in their yearly financial plan decided they want to budget approximately one million dollars in discounts, that will go a lot further during Value season.

So, we're prepared to cancel, but we're pretty confident that we won't have to. I hope! :goodvibes

I'll hold off. There is no reason to book the trip yet. Especially since I don't know if I can get the time off yet.

I put a courtesy hold on for contempoary
called back to cancell told me I had a code
so I booked poly instead
I quess it paid to tell them I could not afford it after all
watch out poly here we come

We were waiting for some sort of discount for early February other than our AAA. Nothing ever showed. Oh well, we would have been back by now less a few thousand dollar$ !!!

I am being stubborn and have decided not to go back until I receive a code...if that means never, then so be it...thats how annoyed I am with being excluded from these mass code emails! LOL

It is pretty easy for me to lay off from Disney, Ive been so many times, I actually dont go through withdrawals or anything..but with our first little one on the way, it will be harder to stay away as she gets older. Maybe by the time she is 5, we will finally receive a PIN!
