I figure he may not listen to me..but if you're in touch can you please tell him that all I want is for my daughter to get a job. She lost both her jobs at the University when she graduated and hasn't found work yet.....she's running through all her savings. :sad1: She has worked since high school and she's feeling like crap!!!

That said, if he thinks I've been extra good and deserve more...tell him I want an upgrade to Wilderness Lodge :lmao:

Ooooo That's Crappy Rosie.
 to your DD.

:scratchin You could teach her the pole dancing routines
you use to do back in the day.
You said Benny Franklin was a big tipper - right?

Not as good as Jefferson!

I think although the market has been slammed with job losses, those just graduating are in the worst place, I feel for your daughter. If she was on the East Coast in upstate NY, I'm sure I could get her face time with different finance companies, but cannot give you much outside of that. I wish her the best of luck and encourage her to stay positive!

What's your daughter's field?

Child and Family Studies. She's also capable of doing event planning and general office work. She's still volunteering like mad..but mostly for non-profits and they just aren't hiring.

Hope she finds something real soon Rosie! :flower3:

I am thankful everyday to have such a great job. Even if I get insanely annoyed and want to start picking off little old ladies... I still have an awesome job!

 Sending good wishes to your daughter. Hopefully, Santa is paying attention.

Some left field ideas...

Since she's already volunteering with a bunch of non-profits, there might be something in one of these grant programs that she could apply for (under the auspices of one of them -- grants can usually include paying for the salary of a person to run a program and it would allow her to do something that she designs herself.

I hope she finds something soon and if I run into Santa I'll mention her need.

Thanks everyone. Keep the Mama in your prayers if you would..it it hard seeing her so unnerved.

I hope your DD gets a job soon... I just got a job, and I've been seriously looking for months and months. I understand her position, and I wish her luck. :goodvibes

It is hardest on Mama, I believe. Your daughter is young and resilient and will find something. It's you who want as much perfect in her life as can be that will ache for her.

Take care Rosie. This world has to turn around... could she maybe become a nanny for a bit? Or perhaps do child care in her home? I know those aren't the best ideas but with her credentials she would be great at it...

I don't think she is opposed to doing either of those...in fact she nannied for quite a bit when she was younger.
We talked a bit last night and it's not just not working that has her thrown, it's that her whole life was at the university and now it's all gone. She's starting from scratch. Yes, the young are resiliant..but I know depression when I see it and she's in deep.

She's talking with a counselor..but until she has a chance to start rebuilding...it's going to be rough going.

Thanks for all your words of encouragement. I consider myself to be an optimistic person and can hold on for dear life with a smile....but ....well...I'm beginning to lag....
